Well, now I will jump on to the review of my latest buy – MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lip Color “Crowned.”

How To Use:
Apply to lips using the edge of the applicator for a smooth, sharp shape. Use the tip of the applicator to perfect your application.
For a diffused look, try blending the edges of the lip with a 219 Brush before the liquid lip colour dries. Use over Prep and Prime Lip for ultimate comfort.

My Experience with MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lip Color Crowned:

I am a big fan of MAC Matte and Retro Matte lipsticks, but was a little reluctant to try liquid lipsticks. I had a mental block that these don’t last as much as they should and may appear flaked out or uneven after a few hours of application or after food or drinks. As I was shopping in Shopper’s Stop recently, I swatched these lipsticks at the MAC counter and the lady there helped me with application technique. I don’t use dark colors much but since the SA insisted on trying this shade “Crowned,” I went ahead and applied it. The color is a bit dark initially, but then, it settles down in a while. The lipstick comes out very light on my lips and does not feel heavy at all.

To describe the color, it’s a beautiful maroon shade with a tinge of brown. It has berry-colored ultra-shimmer particles that give a nice metallic finish to the lips. The color gives a reflection of maroon, berry and slight brown colors. For people who are not used to dark colors, it will take a while to get used to the color.

Since I wasn’t sure whether or not to pick it up, the SA asked me to give it some time and then decide. I continued my shopping and went out for dinner. At the end of the day, I noticed that the lipstick was intact. Also, I got compliments from my husband and a few friends for the shade. I picked up this lipstick the very next day and I have been happy using it.

This liquid lip color comes in a transparent plastic with a black-colored twist cap that has a wand. The wand is oval shaped, soft, padded one and helps with smooth and even application. It’s advisable to pick the color in one stroke and apply evenly instead of layering to prevent the flakiness.

The lip color gives an even and opaque finish in a single stroke. It’s always advisable to try lip colors on properly prepped lips. The lipstick is truly non-transferable and can be easily removed with any makeup remover or wipe. I loved the color a lot and would definitely recommend it.
