Last month, MAC came out with their new permanent lipstick range called “Liptensity.” Honestly, at first, I was not interested in any of the colours, but after reading so many good reviews about it, I wanted to see for myself that what the hype was all about. And obviously, I had to pick up a neutral shade from the collection since I don’t have enough neutral shades in my collection ? The shade I picked up is called “Smoked Almond.”
A brilliant formula that pushes the boundaries of colour. Each lipstick holds intense amounts of pigment, resulting in extreme colour intensity, clarity and vibrancy. This luxurious gelled base melts on contact, providing fully saturated colour with a satin finish in one stroke. Gel formula glides on smoothly. Long-wearing, eight hours. Comfortable formula.
My Experience with MAC Smoked Almond Liptensity Lipstick:
Thank you MAC for giving us a packaging which won’t cause much confusion . ? For the first time, MAC has come up with the packaging unlike their traditional lipstick case. The Liptensity range has colour coordinating caps and slanted bullet shape like their “Huggable” lipstick formula. Like any other MAC lipstick, these have a lovely vanilla scent to it. The bottom tube is black with MAC printed on it and half the tube is the same as the color of the bullet inside. The name of the shade is printed at the bottom of the tube.
The idea behind the “Liptensity” formula is to offer comfort and hydration of a lip balm with the intensity of a lip colour. The liptensity super saturated colour pay off with creamy texture. It offers opaque coverage in one swipe. When I first applied it to my lips, I was in love with the formulation. It applies so smoothly and glides like butter on the lips. I did not notice any feathering around my lips. The shade range is huge, they offer 24 shades including neutral, reds, pinks, purples, blue and even a black. There is something for everyone.
“Smoked Almond” is a rosy brown shade which is perfect for everyday wear and would suit all skin tones and complexions. When I applied it first, I noticed that it dries down to a semi-matte finish with a slight sheen. This formula makes your lips look plump and beautiful.
It does not cling on to any dry patches of the lips and feels very comfortable and hydrating on the lips. The best part of the liptensity is the wear time. Smoked Almond lasts for 5 hours on me after drinking and leaves behind a beautiful stain.
The only drawback of this range is the shade of bullet. Since it has no pointed tip that means sacrificing a bit of precision. Rest, I absolutely love this lipstick and I am totally planning on picking up more shades.
