“I Hate MAC lipsticks” said no girl ever! Through my reviews, you may have figured out that I am die-hard MAC fan, especially out that I am a die-hard MAC fan, especially lipsticks. There are all gorgeous, beautiful, and make you fall in love with the darker shade lipstick as well. So, here I am with another lipstick in “Smoked Purple.” On July 31st, it was lipstick day and there was pretty good offer at MAC, so I thought why not grab it.
Formulated to shade, define and showcase the lips. Hundreds of hues, high-fashion textures. The iconic product that made M·A·C famous.
My Experience with MAC Smoked Purple Lipstick:
It comes in a classic black bullet shaped case with MAC engraved on it as all MAC lipsticks are. When it comes to the color and texture, when I first saw this lipstick totally fell in love with the color. I do own darker shades lipsticks but this was different. The color is named “Smoked Purple,” but when I saw it first, it looked more towards brown or reddish tones, not totally purple, but after I applied it on the lips, it had that purple color with strong undertones. I did find it more like black but when seen properly you will see the perfect color.
The texture is creamy yet a matte finish, does get patchy after some time, but you can always reapply. As all MAC lipsticks, this one too has good staying power. It might stain because of the darker shade (be careful when you wear white). This shade goes well with Indian skin tones. I did not find it to get dry on my lips and it lasted about 5 hours without touch ups and I was able to drink and eat lightly.
This shade did not bleed, had a pleasant vanilla scent, and remained completely matte. Most girls wouldn’t go for this shade, but must have if you want to add that one darker shade in your collection. It can be worn during day and night out (cause why not). You need to be more careful while applying this lipstick on the lips, a proper makeup would complement this lipstick even more. I prefer to prep my lips before applying the lipstick.
