MAC Soba Eyeshadow
MAC describes Soba as gold brown with gold shimmer.
Soba is a satin finish eyeshadow. It is medium pigmented yellow based brown with very fine golden shimmers. This is probably my least favourite eyeshadow from MAC. The only way I can use it is as a transitional color. When I use Soba on my lids, it barely shows. I feel it rather dulls down the color of my lids. I any day prefer Soft brown over this one. Not only SOft Brown brightens up my eye lids but I find it more versatile than Soba.
The shimmer is almost non existant. It thought atleast it would add some brightness to lids, it does not. It adds very slight sheen to the lids that helps the shadow not look muddy on eyes.
Texture wise, it is pretty smooth. It does not crease or fade. It is a medium pigmented eyeshadow but it is quite buildable. You can probably use Soba with most eyeshadow colors. It also helps in softening the smokey eye look.
I mostly use it to fade soften the harsh lines of my shadows but other than that I don’t feel this is really necessary to have in your collection.
