MAC Sunny Seoul Lipstick Review

Hi,

I guess most of us are Mac lipstick fans and love to add more to our existing MAC collection. I mostly stick to light lip shades and dark ones on rare occasions.

Description:

Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street. What made MAC famous!

MAC Cremesheen + Pearl is a new collection now available online (and will hit stores on August 9th) that features eight lipsticks (all with Cremesheen finishes) and seven Cremesheen Glasses. All fifteen lip products are new, but here’s the surprising news: they’re also permanent! This post features these four lipstick shades: Pure Zen (frosted warm nude), Saigon Summer (frosted bright orange), Shanghai Spice (frosted neutral pink), and Sunny Seoul (frosted light warm pink).

My Experience with MAC Sunny Seoul Lipstick:

The practical makeup lover in me wanted to be certain I liked this shade enough to wear it regularly before buying it. I tried it and was surprised at how light the colour looked on my lips, yet didn’t wash me out. The SA at the MAC store Bangalore is a friend now that I keep visiting the store and he commented how Sunny Seoul brightened up my complexion, yet it was still natural. I was looking for a natural pink lipstick for a few days.

This colour is just so darn PRETTY! Sunny Seoul is a cremesheen with a pretty pink colour. I love this shade, it’s fun and fresh for summer. The pearl effect is very subtle and the colour is very similar to my lip colour, which is very convenient. It brightens my face and yet not a loud colour at all. It’s a gorgeous girly colour that will pop any complexion. The lines on my lips do not get emphasized. A lovely colour for everyday use and goes perfectly well with smokey eyes.

Texture wise it’s light weight and not drying. Like any cremesheen it’s creamy, blends well and extremely pigmented. The staying power is average because of the formula and needs touch up all day, though it leaves behind a nice stain. The colour lasts for about 2 to 3 hours as compared with some of MAC’s more heavily pigmented hard-hitters, but even the most beautiful flowers can’t remain in bloom forever! Love this shade.

I like the shiny finish, very, very, very pretty and I don’t need a lip gloss on top. It is a little shimmery and definitely on the sheer side, so it’s a great choice for an easy colour. My favourite lipstick hands down! Really pops against my fair skin. It’s not quite as vivid and bright on the lips as it looks in the tube or on my hand but frankly, that’s just the way I like it- the perfect, easy, every day, flattering shade of pink.

Pros of MAC Sunny Seoul Lipstick:

  • Lovely and a very, very pretty shade of pink.
  • Does not dry out my lips.
  • Leave behind a nice stain.
  • Light shimmers, radiant and glossy.
  • Pops up the complexion.
  • Does not wash out on NC 25 skin tone.

Cons of MAC Sunny Seoul Lipstick:

  • Might not cover very pigmented (dark mauve) lips.

Would I recommend/repurchase MAC Sunny Seoul Lipstick?

Yes and yes. All my life. It’s an awesome shade that I have found in quite a few months.
