Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Spray Review

Hair Type : Thick, wavy, frizz-prone, medium length

This is my first Macadamia product and I was really excited about trying it out. I do not like to experiment with my hair care products, but this time I just wanted to add this one to my regimen. It is an oil spray which can be used pre and post hair styling. It claims to manage hair and since I have frizz-prone hair, this one seemed perfect.

My Experience with Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Spray:

I am not clumsy, still glass bottles intimidate me. Hence, I am not a fan of this bottle – it is made of glass and is not travel friendly. But if you can ignore these two factors, it is a perfect packaging for such a spray. The spray pump is awesome and sprays out the product in mist form. This helps in distributing the product evenly on hair, otherwise things could turn really oily here. I like the brown and green theme here – such simple, earthy colors. The packaging has all the details related to the product, which is another plus.

The product is a very very light oil that gets evenly distributed on and absorbed by the hair. It adds an instant shine and a boost of moisture into the hair, whether used pre styling or post styling. It makes hair very manageable, and frizz remains under control for even 10 hours when it comes to my hair, which is thick and frizz-prone. One thing which might bother most of the people here is this spray’s fragrance. The fragrance is cooling and herbal and I do not mind it. But, a lot of people won’t appreciate this fragrance.

My hair does not feel oily or greasy even if I spray a lot of this product. Believe me, it gets absorbed so well. But I guess people with thin hair will have to be a bit careful while using it, else the product might weigh their hair down. This oil spray is primarily meant to add some life into thin hair, but works great on all hair types, as mentioned on the bottle.

It does not make my scalp or hair greasy or sticky nor has it ever dried out my hair. My hair remains moisturised and shiny for up to two days after using this spray. But its ability to control or hold hairstyles is negligible. This means, to hold hairstyles in place, you’ll have to use another hair spray. Since I do not really style my hair everyday, this does not bother me. Also, it reduces the staying power of hair straightening a little too.

It claims to protect hair from heat and environmental damage, which I feel is true because my hair does not feel dry when I wash my hair even after hair straightening. I have also used it with my Philips HP8659 KeraShine Essential Care Air Straightener and it works great with it too. My hair becomes dry with that dryer and still retains shine, bounce and health. Again, the spray cannot hold or help you create hairstyles. Also I have noticed that the results are not very long lasting; my hair starts to become its normal self after a night, but I am okay with it.
