You guys remember my magenta eye makeup look? I thought I’d do a little toned down version of the same with magenta eyeliner look. It’s something that’s fun, summery and easy to wear. Plus I literally created this eyeliner using MAC Pigment in Process magenta and Inglot Duraline so it’s waterproof. I also did a light neutral shimmery wash of color on my lids and brow bone just to add a bit more dimension to the look. And a pair of wispy lashes finished the look. 🙂 Hope you like it and give it a try. Don’t forget to share your looks in Madam gupshup. 🙂

MAC Pigment Basic Red, Process Magenta, Genuine Orange Review

I love working with pigments. Although they are messy and can be pain to work with sometimes, it is the versatility of the pigments is that keeps me hooked on to them. I picked up 3 pigments from MAC a while back.
Basic red : a true neutral red
Genuine Orange : a yellow based orange.
Process Magenta : A bright magenta color.

All the 3 pigments are matte finish. Although you can get different finishes in pigments from MAC. They come in these little pots and they are insanely pigmented. you can use pigments in various forms – as eyeshadows, blush, highlighters, eyeliners, lip colors ….I mean you think of it and you can do just about anything with these intensely pigmented magical loose powders. You just have to have imagination to use these and there is no stopping you once you get the hang of these.  The texture is a bit thick but very smooth. As an eyeshadow I found that is best used with a damp brush to get the intense and even color pay off. If you use them dry, they’d fly everywhere and they can look a bit patchy. I’d share another look using these pigments. Sometimes I find genuine orange quite tricky to use on its own because it can look a bit sallow on my olive skin tone. Since I have the same textures in various colors, I often mix and match. They also have long staying power. I have used them as eyeshadow, eyeliners and lip products and no matter what way I have used, they have lasted me good 7-8 hours without fading or budging. I would put pigments in a ‘pro’ product category solely because they can be quite tricky to use. Plus if you are more of a go-to makeup person, you really don’t want to get into the hassle of mixing the products or dealing with fall outs or the mess of it. I’d be sharing more looks using these in coming days. I personally adore these pigments. The MAC pigments are quite different from Star Powders from MUFE, although they can both function in a similar way. MUFE Star Powders have thinner texture and have shimmery / satiny  finish. MAC has different finishes in their pigments and do feel a bit powdery and thicker. But I love them both for their individual needs. If you are someone who likes to play with their makeup or is a professional makeup artist, these are definitley a must have in your kit. I love all the 3 colors to bits. I might even pick more. 🙂 Rating : 5/5
