How To Make Bag out of a T Shirt

Hello Everybody,

Last weekend, when I was arranging my wardrobe, I came across some old t-shirts that are way too loose for me as they have stretched out and all of a sudden, I got an idea to convert them into useful tote bags.  The “go green” attitude is on high. So, in sync with it, I made my own t-shirt tote bag in just a matter of minutes.

So, here comes this easy DIY:

Materials Required:

• Old t-shirt (preferably loose).
• Thread.
• Scissors.
• Beads.
• Marker pen and pencil.
• Ruler.
• Blade.
• Needle.

The procedures are mentioned step-by-step so as to make the DIY easy for all of you. Let’s get started:

Step 1: Take an old t-shirt and fold it half vertically.

Step 2: With the help of a pencil, mark a half ‘U’ pattern. Cut along the mark with a scissor.

Step 3: Sew the bottom edge all the way around with the help of a needle and thread.

Step 4: Now, come to the upper front and cut both the sides diagonally.

Step 5: Again fold the piece half vertically and cut a slit for the handle.

Step 6: Using the marker pen, draw dotting lines all over the bag (small, medium, large, whichever way you like).

Step 7: Cut slits on these lines with a blade.

Note: Don’t make the holes too large or else contents will fall out from them.

Step 8: Stretch the bag.

Step 9: At the sides, hang some beads with the help of a needle and thread to add a classic appeal to the tote.

That’s it, the tote bag is ready to catch all the attention. The best part is, these bags are completely washable and when it dries, the slits curl up a bit which gives it an even better look!
