I have already reviewed two matte Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Color Paint eyeshadows from the same range HERE.

I have a love-hate relationship with these gorgeous colorful tubes. I would quickly list the pros and cons for you all:

• • Available in 20 gorgeous colors and 3 finishes – matte, satin, shimmer.
  • Insanely pigmented.
  • Super long staying. They don’t feather, smudge or budge. In fact, they are a little pain in bum to remove even with an oil-based remover.
  • They are waterproof. Hello, monsoon liners. 🙂 And hello, stage artists and brides. 🙂
  • Are super versatile. Can be used as a blush, liner, lip paint, creative makeup…can even be mixed with each other to create your own shades. Use your imagination to play with these.
  • Very creamy, glides on like a dream.

• Come packed in these gorgeous little colorful tubes, easy to store and carry around.
• They are not buildable. Not that you need to build them up because of their crazy pigmentation but if you try, they tend to crack. I’d say they are better as eyeshadows than as liners.
• The play time is very little with them. They set quite quickly and the room for mistakes is too little.
  With tubes like these, it tends to a lot of wastage because you can never be sure how much product you want in one go. Most makeup artists  me included) tend to squeeze product at the back of their hand and work from there. This product is so long lasting that once it dries, it becomes a task to clean the hand as well. Now, I mostly squeeze the color on a palette or work directly from tube. Now, the pro of the same con is that these tubes also prevent the product from drying. I can’t imagine them in pot packaging. They’d dry up in a week.

I adore these little tubes. I always get annoyed with the product wastage and how quickly you have to work with them but I use them a lot and never get tired of using them. If you like using fun colors for your makeup, you should really give these a go. I’d review the satin shades in a few days and that get the most usage for my everyday wear. Overall, I’d recommend them with a hint of caution 🙂
