Make Up For Ever (MUFE) – Rouge Artist Intense #45

Hello Busy Bees, glad you came online – don’t go back to work without reading this one!!

MUFE is another brand comparable to MAC in their dedication towards providing a wide array of products. The Brand has an amazing variety of products, colours, finishes – you can easily get lost in the cornucopia of what they shell out. Further more, they have different products for their consumer base as well as Make Up Artist (MUA) base. They do individual products as well as palettes for lipsticks, concealers, etc – and sell refill for these.

Make Up For Ever – Rouge Artist Intense #45

The product I am reviewing belongs to their Rouge Artist Intense line – which has 50 colours (!!!!!!!!!) to chose from – in different finishes like Matte, satin and pearly. The colour I review today is #45 – Satin Raspberry (yes!!!) Red. Disclaimer – I did not know the name of the product when I bought it! Actually, the lipstick has only the number mentioned on it – the colour name I picked form their website.

Price:

US $20 / INR 1350 post conversion from Thai Baht

Packaging:

The product comes in a glossy black tube with a colour-coded tag at the base – handy for identifying the colour, if you own more than 1 of these. The cover has “Make Up For ever” written on it. Its simplistic, classy and functional design. The lipstick has a regular twist up mechanism.

My experience with the Make Up For Ever – Rouge Artist Intense #45

Color: The colour mentionedon the site is Satin Raspberry Red. It describes it perfectly. It’s a full bodied blue based red – with a tinge of pink in it. The colour brightens the place and adds loads of oomph…but you need confidence to carry off this loud a colour.

The Lipstick speaks for itself – so you need to tone down rest of your makeup. You could use a Red blush with it like MAC Scarlet fever or something. But I generally use it with a bronzer so that the lipstick takes centre stage.

Texture: The texture is creamy and has a nice sheen – no shimmer or sparkle. There is no tug or pull. Despite the dark colour – Its easy to apply from the tube.

Make Up For Ever – Rouge Artist Intense #45 swatches

It isn’t really ultra hydrating. But it doesn’t dry out the lips either. Don’t know about the mattes, but this Satin finish lippy did not settle into the fine lines on my lips.

Pigmentation:Superb!! 1-1.5swipe is all it takes to have even full bodied colour on your lips. This one truly is extremely high on pigmentation. I swatched it next to MAC Ruby Woo –thinking it might be same colour but different finish…it isn’t. However, note pigmentation of the swipe – MUFE is single swipe. Ruby Woo is 3 swipes coz how dry and uneven it came off on single swipe.

Pigmentation does remind me of Giorgio Armani Satin finish – though it isn’t the same.

Lasting power:The product lasted about 6.5 hours on my lips, post which I was left with a stain, which lasted another 2 hours. If it didn’t transfer easily, the lasting power would have been even better.

Make Up For Ever – Rouge Artist Intense #45-5

To sum this up for you:

Pros of Make Up For Ever – Rouge Artist Intense #45

1. A beautiful Raspberry Redshade – make the face look bright and the teeth white!
2. Excellent pigmentation
3. It applies easily – no tug or pull!
4. Does not settle into the fine lines of the lips
5. There was no feathering or bleeding – despite it being Red!
6. Comfortable to wear – though not hydrating, per se
7. Fairly long lasting

Cons of Make Up For Ever – Rouge Artist Intense #45

1. Has some fragrance – but it does not last long
2. Transfers easily

IMBB Rating:

A 4.5/5 product.

A highly pigmented colour, long lasting, comfortable to wear – this one’s a winner. You really have to try the lippy to feel the insane pigmentation.
Please note – the high saturated colour is unique only to the Rouge Artist Intense Line. Do not confuse it with MUFE’s Rouge Artist Natural line – which is not as pigmented.

    1. *thankyou* Mini!

Why dont you try a dark shade as a stain…lightly apply with a finger…see how that works for you. If u pick a texture which is very light, u might forget u have it on and get comfortable with it over time.
