Make Up For Ever Artist Palette Volume 2 in Artistic Review

Product Purchased by IMBB

Hola beautiful IMBBans!!!

This is another product I purchased under the IMBB Sponsored Product scheme. Now, this palette consumed bulk of sponsor’s money, but is one of the best buys! I spent two hours in Sephora to get the right eye shadow palette – which is versatile, has good pigmentation and suits my skin tone. I was a little confused between this palette and one by Tarte, but eventually settled for this one. Keep reading to know why!

My Experience with Make Up For Ever Artist Palette Volume 2 in Artistic:

Make Up For Ever Artist Palette Volume 2 in Artistic Review

Stores like Sephora and Ulta are a heaven for makeup geeks like me and the trip to these stores become even better when one meets a nice, informative and helpful SA. The one who helped me get the right palette was really pretty and sweet; she took me around the store and swatched several eye shadows for me and helped me narrow down this particular palette.

Packaging: Most of the expensive palettes do not come in plastic case, but in a really thick hard board case which is eco friendly and very pretty. This particular one has a juicy red pout on the cover and a mirror on the inside. All the shadows are in tin pans which are then embedded inside the cardboard with slots for each pan.

Texture: These are pressed shadows, but feel like baked shadows since they have practically no fallout and have amazing pigmentation. They have a very soft texture and even though they are shimmery, they don’t feel gritty or difficult to work with. These shadows are very easy to pick up on brush and apply on the lid – very smooth to blend and smudge too.

Colors:

Row 1:

Top shade is more of a shimmer shade – it is a silver shade with pink undertones, the bottom two shades in the row are classified as blush – middle one is a very vibrant pink (way too pink for blush), but a gentle sweep with very little product is enough for cheek bones and bottom one is a dark lavender color which might not look as flattering on people with blue undertones.

Row 2:

Top color is silver with dull brown undertones, middle color is very cool toned peacock blue color which will look pretty on all types of skin tone and last one is a dark forest green shade which is perfect for smokey look.

Row 3:

Top color is a champagne color which can act as a good base color, middle color is gold color which can be used to accentuate the look for a night out or a party and last one is a very dark black–brown which is, again, ideal for a smokey or a goth look.

Pigmentation: Awesome pigmentation! One sweep is enough to get the desired color intensity. Like I mentioned earlier, the palette offers the pigmentation of a baked eye shadow and with practically no fall out.

Shimmer and Shine: All the shades have very pretty shimmer to it which is smooth and homogeneous and does not transfer much.

Wear Time: These shadows last an entire day or until they are removed. The shadows are so good that they do not smudge or transfer and need a good makeup remover to remove it.

Conclusion: This is a very pretty palette that comes in two shades – the other palette has more of natural, warm tones which are in rave these days, but I have plenty of those. So, I bought the more vibrant of the two.

• Homogenous shimmer particles

  1. The shade selection is superb in this palette. Also, I like the fact that they explain the kind of looks that can be created using it.

  2. I have been eyeing this since it came out but it’s sold out at all the sephora’s near me cuz it’s limited edition. Boo!!

      1. I had it with other stuff in my (e)basket, when I eventually checked out I realised I paid a lot less then expected only to find out that it was out of stock because it’s limited edition. This was 10 days-ish ago when I was using a VIB discount card to buy a whole load of stuff… maybe it’s back in stock now…

        1. Sorry VIB Rouge discount, and they were honouring a card then. I’ve got my eye out on the Nude version of this now!
