My Experience with Make Up For Ever Ellipse Sponge
Since the time I have started using beauty sponges, my face makeup brushes have definitley taken a back seat. I have both Beauty Blender and Real Techniques Sponge. I was wanting to buy another Real Techniques sponge but then I saw this and it looked interesting.

I have used it and abused it quite a bit already. It is beautiful peach sponge but in a slant log kind of a shape. The ends of the sponge are flat and slanted. They have a little texture to them as opposed to the side of the sponge, which is completely smooth (latex). This sponge is not as ‘spongey’ as the other beauty sponges I have. It is a little firm and I feel that gives a great control.

The flat end of the sponge are pure love. They sit so beautifully on the contours of the face. You can blend your concealer, foundation and totally get to the sides of the nose. With one end you can do your foundation and other end you can use it for concealer or cream blush. Unlike the other beauty sponges this does not swell up much when you dampen it. Once it is soaked up it works like a charm. It is also kind of long-ish. I feel the longer shape of the sponge helps you get a better control.

I have washed it a few times already and it cleans up nicely. But since the color is so light you’d still have a few stains here and there. Still it does not look as bad as I was expecting it to look after using it.

The only drawback I feel is that the side has no role to play in the sponge. You can how you can use Beauty Blender all around. In this you can only use the ends. I feel you get used to using it after using it a few times.
It blends foundations seamlessly and works as beautifully as you’d want your beauty sponge to work.

Overall, if you are looking to add a new beauty sponge in your collection I’d definitely would recommend it. It gives a beautiful control on application and is very soft to use. 🙂
