Hope all of you are doing great! I am back again to share another makeup purchase with you all, which proved to be so worth for my weird skin type and skin tone. Needless to say Make Up For Ever never fails to impress me. I was lucky enough to get hold of this light-weight, water based foundation a while back and since then I make sure I wear it for every important occasion. So let’s read more about it.
Price: $43 for 1.60 fl Oz, excludes shipping and taxes
What it is:
A weightless foundation with a natural water-based gel formula to conceal imperfections for a flawless finish on the face or body. This waterproof, ultra-light, water-based gel contains no emulsifiers and provides a totally natural, satin finish. It is ideal for normal skin types as well as for fine lines and large pores, and provides a uniform tone without accentuating imperfections—a makeup artist’s favorite.
My Experience with Make Up For Ever Face & Body Liquid Make-Up – 32 Alabaster Beige:
The foundation comes in an ordinary but sturdy glass bottle packaging with pump dispenser opening and transparent plastic cap. I am not very convinced by the packaging as it seems slight tricky for travelling unless I keep it securely inside card board packaging it comes with. It does have a mild fragrance which is fine to me.
This foundation comes in some 16 shades with a full description which makes it easier for us to select the right shade even online. My shade “32 Alabaster Beige” is meant for light skin tones with yellow undertones and it is a perfect match for my skin type and skin tone so far. I love how it comes up on my skin giving it a my skin but better effect rather than giving a cakey effect. It is definitely meant for a variety of Indian skin tones and skin types respectively.
The foundation is really runny unlike usual thick foundations which might seem tricky. I need to shake it really well to avoid small clumps which often appear while pumping the foundation out. I see that it works really well with the beauty blender, Tarte airbrush finish brush and even fingers though it may be tricky to use with paddle foundation brush considering its dripping liquid consistency. When I first poured the liquid on hand, I had no hopes that it will impress me but surprisingly it bowled me with its super radiant finish and sheer to buildable coverage on my skin. Yes gals! Do not expect the foundation to provide full coverage but even with no concealer this foundation will give medium coverage, good enough to blur scars, redness and pores up to a good extent.
I had a notion that water based formulas never work with silicone based products but this foundation is an exception as it works really well with my silicone based primer beneath; even it works well in conjunction with creamy crayon concealers. I have tried using it on bare skin with no primer, just pore vanishing stick and it gave me picture perfect, even-toned skin with radiant shine and dewy finish. It looks close to second skin and no one can detect I am wearing a foundation as it hardly clings to dry patches nor does it ever look cakey even with multiple layers.
I do need powder touch-up after 3-4 hours as it does not have very good oil control properties, but no worries. This can be slightly disappointing for oily skin beauties as I can see a little oily T zone after 4-5 hours of wear time but the good thing is it never fades off or comes off and I can easily remove shine with powder touch-up; that’s it! I have worn it several times in past months and not a single time it gave me disappointing results. It never caused any breakouts on my skin luckily.
Well I do feel that it is pricey but considering the qualities it possesses, I can easily overlook few cons. Nevertheless, it is going to be in my stash for some unbeatable qualities.

If you have sensitive skin then try this; it never gave me a single bump and I never experienced any dryness or over activity in my sebum glands while wearing it.
