Hello Beautiful People,
So, here I have another beautiful every day shade from Makeup Forever’s new Artist eyeshadow line – I662 (the I stands for iridescent) or Amber Brown. If you have already read my last reviews on these eyeshadows, I would skip to the “My Take” section of this review.
Sephora describes this eyeshadow as “a highly-blendable, gel-powder eye shadow and powder blush with vivid color payoff. Effortlessly create endless eye looks that range from beautifully natural to highly artistic with this unique eye shadow palette. With its breakthrough, gel-powder formula blended with ultra fine pigments, Artist Shadow leaves a smooth, even result that gives lids super-saturated, lasting color. An easily-blendable formula that features diamond, iridescent, matte, metallic, and satin finishes, it is an accessible shadow for the professional makeup artist and the everyday woman.”
Size and Pricing:
A single pan costs $21.00 for 0.07 oz or around 2 grams. This is slightly on the high end of the price I’ll pay for a single eyeshadow but the quantity is so much more than what you get from most other eyeshadow pans. This is a seriously BIG eyeshadow pan! For reference, below is the average price and quantity (for a single eyeshadow) by some commonly used eyeshadows:

My Take on Make Up For Ever I662 Amber Brown Artist Eyeshadow:
Copper colours are something I’m starting to warm up to only recently. I always thought that they would not suit my skin tone. Yet, when I saw it on other Indian beauties, I was amazed at how good it looked on them. But when I swatched this colour, it was love at first sight and I haven’t looked back. I knew I had to incorporate this special copper in my look. This eyeshadow is a beautiful medium copper with a slight metallic golden sheen to it. It also has some brown undertones making it a very wearable colour. It is definitely very warm and shimmery, but I think that makes it an excellent choice for Indian festivities.
Like any other eyeshadow from this range, this colour also has awesome payoff. It is fully opaque in a single swatch! The texture is definitely gel like. It is such a beautiful and intricate colour. It’s the perfect copper-gold-brown “pick me up” for your eyes.
Even with all the iridescence, there was virtually no fall out, which is so impressive. Overall, I’m very pleased with this colour and it an excellent addition to anyone’s collection if you love unique copper-golden colours.
Here are things I Love about Make Up For Ever I662 Amber Brown Artist Eyeshadow:
- Gorgeous festive colour.
- A very different kind of copper – all the gold in it makes it more wearable if you’re afraid of true copper tones.
- Beautiful colour to accentuate brown and hazel eyes.
- For the price, you get an amazing amount of very high-quality eyeshadow.
- The eyeshadow is very pigmented.
- The colour payoff is amazing! It was hard to remove from my arm after swatching it!
- I LOOOOOVE single pots so much (I have to depot everything and ruin half the things in the process).
- This one also lasts forever on me with a primer (Urban Decay or Nars). I have worn it for up to 10 hours and the eyeshadow stayed on my eyelids without any transfer.
Things I’m not so much in-love with Make Up For Ever I662 Amber Brown Artist Eyeshadow:
- The only real con is availability! In the US, there are probably a few Makeup Forever Boutiques around but for most of us, you have to buy them from a Sephora!
I would rate this eyeshadow a 4.5/5! Perfect eyeshadow for any special day or to brighten up any everyday look!
