Dearest IMBB-ians,

I hope all of you are doing wonderful. I also hope that you guys are enjoying these Makeup Forever eyeshadow reviews! Today, I have another beautiful but unusual shade from the Artist eyeshadow line – ME122 (the ME stands for metallic) or Snow. If you have already read my last reviews on these eyeshadows, I would skip to the “My Take” section of this review.

Sephora describes this eyeshadow as “a highly-blendable, gel-powder eye shadow and powder blush with vivid color payoff.  Effortlessly create endless eye looks that range from beautifully natural to highly artistic with this unique eye shadow palette. Size and Pricing:

A single pan costs $21.00 for 0.07 oz or around 2 grams. This is slightly on the high end of the price I will pay for a single eyeshadow, but the quantity is so much more than what you get from most other eyeshadow pans. This is a seriously BIG eyeshadow pan!  For reference, below is the average price and quantity (for a single eyeshadow) by some commonly used eyeshadows:

My Take on Make Up For Ever ME122 Artist Eyeshadow:

I never would have thought that I would find a cool-shimmery-white eyeshadow interesting, leave alone purchase it. I think this is a fairly common eyeshadow colour, but when I swatched it, I couldn’t resist buying it because I don’t have too many colours like it. Even though the colour is very cool and “white,” and completely clashes with my skin tone, I think it’s really meant to be a base eyeshadow to amp-up any other eyeshadows you might use. Almost kind of like an eyeshadow base for eyeshadows!

I know that seems so silly but if I want to add shimmer and iridescence to my matte eyeshadows, I use ME122 as a base and then apply the matte eyeshadow. It completely transforms that matte into a gleaming eyeshadow and adds vibrancy and depth to the original matte colour. I feel like I’m repeating myself, but the pigmentation of this eyeshadow was epic! Again, with all the shimmer and shine, no fall out which is super appreciated!

The colour is opaque in a single swatch and definitely very creamy and gel like. I know this is a strange colour, but I love it as a base and it makes an excellent highlight shade too!

Here are things I Love about Make Up For Ever ME122 Artist Eyeshadow:

  • Amazingly pigmented true “white” eyeshadow with shimmer.
  • Not a unique colour but excellent as a base.
  • Great colour to highlight the inner corners of eyes or for glam eyebrow arches.
  • For the price, you get an amazing amount of very high quality eyeshadow.
  • The eyeshadow is very pigmented.
  • The colour payoff is amazing! It was hard to remove from my arm after swatching it!
  • I LOOOOOVE single pots so much (I have to depot everything and ruin half the things in the process).
  • This one also lasts forever on me with a primer (Urban Decay or Nars). I have worn it for up to 8 hours under other colours and both the colours seemed to stay put!

Things I’m not so much in-love with about Make Up For Ever ME122 Artist Eyeshadow:

  • Not a very unique colour; there are several dupes available in the market for much cheaper.
  • Obviously – availability! In the US, there are probably a few Makeup Forever Boutiques around but for most of us, you have to buy them from a Sephora!

IMBB Rating:

I would rate this eyeshadow 4/5!I know this a strange colour and definitely not up everyone’s alley, but if you’re feeling daring, this colour will definitely add the “oomph” to your look.
