Hope you all are well. I recently went on a mini vacation to celebrate Eid with family. I will be sharing with you some of the goodies I used on this trip which were a literal lifesaver in the super-hot humid Florida weather. This review will be on the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation in the shade 128=Y415 Almond. This was the only foundation I took with me on this trip apart from a few CC creams.
About The Product:
A long-lasting, multitasking cover stick with invisible coverage for foundation touch-ups and contouring.
What it does:
Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation creates a flawless complexion on camera, and to the naked eye. Developed specifically for the film and TV industry’s most advanced technology, it is completely invisible under the latest, super-focused 4k lens. The revolutionary foundation contains amino acid coated pigments that provide medium-to-full coverage with a lightweight, second-skin texture that looks just like skin. It leaves a natural-looking, radiant finish, and it’s formulated with hyaluronic spheres for time-released hydration that is perfect for normal to dry skin. Ideal for foundation touch-ups and contouring, it can be applied at home or on-the-go for a flawless complexion.
-Start by placing Ultra HD Stick to the high planes of the face: the forehead, center of the nose, and the chin.
-Then swipe across the top of the cheekbones, and diagonally on the jaw.
-Ultra HD Stick provides buildable coverage. If you prefer a more full coverage foundation add a few additional swipes.
-Diffuse using Brush #122, with small circular motions starting through the center of the face and working outward.
-Choose a shade that is two shades darker than your own skintone.
-Apply to the contours of the cheeks, across the top of the forehead, both sides of your nose, and under your jaw.
-Using brush #156, directionally blend to soften contours and enhance bone structure
My Experience with Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation:
Comes in an easy to use stick format with a twist up mechanism, and a secure cap. I find this type of foundations so much easier to travel with as they take up lesser space and you need not be as careful as with a glass bottle. I am pretty sure this will be a staple in my travel makeup kit.
When I saw this foundation I thought this must be like one of those “pan stick” foundations that I am not a fan of as they tend to be cakey and unforgiving on my dry skin. But surprisingly, this foundation is super creamy and smooth in texture, and blending it into the skin is practically effortless with my beauty blender. There is absolutely no streaking, no caking and it feels super lightweight on my skin.
Coverage & Finish:
This foundation provides medium- full coverage (the liquid version of this foundation which I have reviewed here offered sheer-medium coverage in comparison). It covers almost all skin imperfections you may have, and that you wish to cover. It leaves a beautiful, natural looking, radiant glow to the skin. The finish is not dewy, but is a little more on the demi matte/satin side. It looks very natural on the skin and you can hardly detect or feel the foundation on your skin. You, skin looks airbrushed; perfect!
Feel on Skin:
It leaves my skin feeling soft and supple. It is hydrating enough to leave my dry skin feeling comfortable without needing a heavy moisturizer underneath. It does not feel greasy, hence I feel even oily skin will like this, but they might need a dusting of powder on top. This foundation did not emphasize my pores, dry patches or fine lines.
Though this shade 128=Y415 Almond looks deeper in the stick, it matches my skin perfectly once I blend it out. For reference, I am a MAC NW23 and Medium Beige in most of the other foundations. This foundation comes in a couple of undertones (Y stands for Yellow and R stands for red/pink).
This foundation has pretty good staying power. It started getting shiny on my skin after around 5-6 hours, but a light blotting took care of that. Even with 8 hours of staying out on and off in the heat, my foundation looked very good. I am very happy with this. If you have a couple of different shades of this foundation, you can definitely use this for cream contouring.
Overall I love this foundation, probably more the liquid version. I feel this is much creamier, hence more hydrating and comfortable for my dry skin type. I love the absolute flawless full coverage it gives while looking very natural and giving my skin a luminous glow. MUFE also has a great color range in their foundation, more than most of the other brands, so you are guaranteed to find your perfect match. But that does make it tricky to get it online, unless you get your shade matched in the store.
Love it and will totally recommend this.
