Makeup Academy Blusher in Bon Bon Review

Hi lovely ladies!!!

I have tried MUA blushes before and I have to admit I was totally impressed by them, which made me greedy to get a few more shades. Thankfully these blushes have pretty names to them unlike their previous blushes that had numbers. If you have never tried a MUA blush, then you should get at least one as soon as possible, as I feel these are one of the best budget blushes available. Today I will be reviewing MUA blusher in the shade Bon Bon (quite a catchy name I must say 😉 ).

My experience with Makeup Academy Blusher in Bon Bon:

MUA blusher comes in a very simple packaging, a black blush pan with a transparent lid with the name MUA printed on it. The transparent lid enables you to spot the shade easily in your makeup stash. The lid has a button end to it that closes securely with a click mechanism, making it travel-friendly. It doesn’t come with an in-built mirror or applicator. The shade name is mentioned on the bottom of the pan along with the ingredients list. The packaging on the whole, looks very simple and isn’t fancy (but we certainly can’t complain for the price it is available for).
Bon Bon is a beautiful dull rose pink blush. It is a complete matte blush with absolutely no sheen or shimmer. The shade will suit fair to medium skin toned beauties. It gives a neutral pink flush to the cheeks that beautifully complements both a natural look for work or a bold and dramatic one for a night out with a bright lip colour. If you’re a blush beginner, this is a great shade to try.

Texture of this blusher is extremely soft and smooth. Despite being a powder blush, it feels really buttery and creamy. You will notice some fall out on swirling a brush in the pan. This powder blush is finely milled, which makes the application super easy. The colour is quite pigmented, but you need to layer it on by swiping it at least 2 times on the cheeks to actually see the colour, as it is a very subtle shade.

Staying power of this blush can vary depending on whether you have a base of BB/CC/ foundation underneath the blush. But overall, I get about 4-6 hours of wear if worn over a sheer base of BB cream before I start to notice fading. It fades away gradually and doesn’t get patchy as it fades.

  1. I like the shade, good for everyday, subtle look. But it’s looking way too matte to me, but that mught be because I have recently fallen in love with cream blushes…
