Makeup Academy Softly Lined Lip Liner Review

I really liked the MUA products I got and was looking forward to using this lip liner “Softly Lined’ from MUA’s Lip Liner range. Now I am going to review it for you all after using it.

My Experience with Makeup Academy Softly Lined Lip Liner :

This lip liner comes in the form of a sharpenable wooden pencil. It has a transparent cap with a built in sharpener. The pencil is not very travel-friendly as the cap to fall off. ‘Softly Lined’ is a pale shimmery pink. The shade is nice but too full of shimmer. It will not suit all skintones.

 

The texture of this liner is not very creamy. It applies smoothly as a liner but when applied over the lips it pulls and tugs the lips like anything. The liner when used on the lips as a whole is extremely drying, thus one cannot skip the application of lip-balm underneath it. I did not try it as a lipstick for long because the shimmer in it started feeling too gritty, so I cannot comment on whether or not it settles into fine lines.

The pigmentation of this lipstick is average. As a liner it applies easily in two or three swipes. But when used on the lips as lipstick, it will need many swipes to cover the lips. After that also, there was just a pink sheen and mostly shimmer which I really cannot carry on my lips.

The liner has average staying power. It stayed on my lips for 2-2.5 hours with light meals in between.

Cons of Makeup Academy Softly Lined Lip Liner:

• Drying for the lips
• Too much shimmer which has a tendency to travel
• Stays on for 2-2.5hours with light meals

Would I Recommend Makeup Academy Softly Lined Lip Liner?
It is all shimmer and no colour. Also, the texture is just not for me. Though as a liner it is okay if you have a matching lipstick to go with it.
