Continuing with my reviews on Makeup Geek eyeshadows, this review will be on the shade “Cocoa Bear.”
The cocoa bear is soft, snuggly, and keeps you safe from the boogey monster. Just a fair warning, however, this warm and rich brown color makes people want to snuggle up close to you. These are all highly-pigmented – just check out the swatches! – Half the price of high end shadows without sacrificing quality – These pans can be placed in empty palettes such as Z-Palettes. – Eyeshadow pan weight is 1.8G / 0.064 oz. With a separate palette, you can build your own custom palettes. All our shadows are cruelty-free – we do not test our products on animals. These eyeshadows are talc and paraben free.
$6 each for regular and the duochrome eyeshadows, not the foiled ones.
My Experience with Makeup Geek Cocoa Bear Eyeshadow:
Packaging: This eyeshadow comes in a pan, which you have to pop in a magnetic palette. I do like the flexibility this provides for customizing a palette based on your needs, but this also means you have to shell out extra to buy the Z palette on top of buying the eyeshadow.
Shade and Finish: “Cocoa Bear” is described as a matte reddish brown. This is one of those absolute must-have colors in everyone’s kit. It is such a versatile and always flattering crease colors that pairs well with most eye looks. If you are building your own neutral palette with Makeup Geek individual shadows, you NEED to have this. While this shade looks very similar to “Frappe,” the latter lacks the red undertone that “Cocoa Bear” has. This shade has a complete matte finish.
Texture/Pigmentation/Blendability: The pigmentation on this shade is fantastic and blends like a dream without getting muddy. The texture is smooth, soft and effortless to work with, I have absolutely no complaints in this department. It does not kick up too much powder when you dip your brush in, neither does it cause any fall out.
Staying Power: It wears without creasing or fading for 8-9 hours with primer.
Overall, I am thoroughly enjoying using these Makeup Geek eyeshadows. They definitely have that high-end feel in terms of its ease of use and smooth texture and I feel you just cannot beat this high quality for this price. I highly recommend this eyeshadow. This shade will definitely be in my top 5 picks from the Makeup Geek line.
In the EOTD, I have used “Cocoa Bear,” in the crease and on the lower lash line with the Touch in sol Metalist Liquid Foil and Glitter Eye Shadow Duo in #1 Margaret (review coming soon) all over the lid and MUG “Shimma Shimma” in the inner corner.
