My Experience with Makeup Geek Corrupt Eyeshadow:

Packaging:  This eyeshadow comes in a pan which you have to pop into a magnetic palette. I do like the flexibility this provides for customizing a palette based on your needs but this also means you have to shell out extra to buy the Z palette on top of buying the eyeshadow.

Shade:  “Corrupt” is described as a matte black shade with very subtle sparkle. It is an intense, and I mean an “intense” jet black color. This is possibly the most pigmented deepest jet dark as night black I have ever encountered. Once you use this eyeshadow and experience its richness, you will throw out every other black shadow in your collection!

It has a very tiny amount of multi-colored shimmer but they mostly get blended away and you are left with an all matte finish. This shade is perfection to help create a black smokey eye.

Pigmentation:  Pigmentation of this shade is very good. You have to just ever so lightly tap your brush in the shadow and for best results start with less and add more or you can easily end up with raccoon eyes which is not a good look except maybe for Halloween. I can easily use a slanted eyeliner brush and use this shadow alone to line my eyes with this – that’s how smooth and pigmented this shadow is (see EOTD).

Texture and Blendability:  The texture of this eyeshadow is smooth and easy to work with. It’s best to tap away the excess to prevent fall out or else you are sure to ruin your base makeup.

Staying Power:  Staying power is amazing. I did not see any fading or creasing for over 8 hours with an eye primer beneath.

Overall, I am thoroughly enjoying using these Makeup Geek eyeshadows. I have used many eyeshadows from across all brands and I can honestly say that these Makeup Geek shadows definitely have that high end feel in terms of its ease of use and smooth texture. And I feel you just cannot beat this high quality for this price. I highly recommend this eyeshadow.

In the EOTD 1:
I have used “Corrupt” on the outer and inner corner or my lid over a black base – Laura Mercier Caviar eyeshadow in the shade Tuxedo and added Kat Von D Metal Crush Eyeshadow in the shade “Thrasher” in the middle on the lid and topped the eyeshadow with a hint of Lime Crime eyeliner in the shade “Rhythm” for added sparkle.  I have followed the same pattern for the lower lash line. Added Ardency Inn Manuka honey eyeshadow in “Sunday” for the pale gold inner corner highlight.

In EOTD 2:
I have used “Chickadee” in as a transition shade deepened with “Frappe” and “Cocoa Bear” in the crease and “Shimma Shimma” all over the lid. I did a golden cut crease with Lime Crime eye liner in “Rhythm” I have used “Corrupt” as an eyeliner on its own and smudged it out.
