My Experience with Makeup Geek Envy Eyeshadow:
Packaging: This eyeshadow comes in a pan which you have to pop in a magnetic palette. I do like the flexibility this provides for customizing a palette based on your needs but this also means you have to shell out extra to buy the Z palette on top of buying the eyeshadow.
Pigmentation/Shade: “Envy” is described as a deep metallic green. This is deep forest green shade with fine specks of teal shimmer. It had a nice subtle metallic finish without being too intensely sparkly. While the pigmentation is good, I wasn’t blown away by this one. I did manage to get full opaque coverage in a couple of layers and it did layer well on itself.
Finish and Texture: The shimmers did tend to blend away if I used a fluffy brush leaving me with a mostly matte finish, but packed on with a flat brush, they did show up well. The powder felt a bit dry and stiff though still not chalky.
Staying Power: This shade has good staying power and wore 7-8 layers on me without creasing.
Overall, I am thoroughly enjoying using these Makeup Geek eyeshadows. While this shade may not be my favorite, it still performed decently, but required more work to make it look good. Hence I’d give it a pass.
In the EOTD, I have “Pixie Dust” on the lid “Envy” in the outer V, both by Makeup Geek.
Pros of Makeup Geek Envy Eyeshadow:
- Affordable and buying individual shades helps you customize a palette exactly to your liking.
- Does not cause fallout.
- Good staying power and does not crease.
- Beautiful deep metallic green shade.
Cons of Makeup Geek Envy Eyeshadow:
- This shade felt a bit dry and stuff and was not as effortless to work with.
- You do have to shell extra to buy a Z palette to put these pans in.

It seems to pull pretty dark – i thought it would be a gorgeous brighter shade. Wish it was more true to pan.
