This review will be on the Makeup Geek foiled eyeshadow in the shade “Untamed.” This is part of my second Makeup Geek haul.
With these rich and intensely-hued shades, the new Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows go beyond your standard line of cosmetics, introducing you to a new and powerful cosmetic experience. This cutting-edge formula offers a creamy texture that is a hybrid between a powder shadow and a cream shadow that is on a level of its own. The intense pigmentation combined with an opaque, metallic finish make these shadows a dream to work with. These can be applied effortlessly in just one swipe with no primer required! Our lineup includes a diverse array of rich colors and a smooth silky formula that we believe help elevate pressed eye shadows to the next level of exceptional quality.
My Experience with Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadow Untamed:
I love Makeup Geek shadows for most part and the foiled range is simply outstanding.
Packaging: This eyeshadow comes in a pan which you have to pop into a magnetic palette. I do like the flexibility this provides for customizing a palette based on your needs, but this also means you have to shell out extra to buy the Z palette on top of buying the eyeshadow.
Texture and Blendability: I adore the texture of these Makeup Geek foiled shadows. They feel almost like a cream to touch. They adhere well even onto bare lids, but you will obviously get better wear if you pair with a primer base. You would realize that the best way to get the most payoff with this shadow is by using your fingertips.
Shade: “Untamed” is described as a bright coppery orange with warm undertones and a foiled finish. This is a stunning all-over lid shade and if you have green or hazel eyes, it will complement them so well and bring out its beauty. I adore warm-toned eyeshadows such as this and reach for it often. Just pop this all over the lid with a complementing matte warm brown shade in the crease and you got yourself and 2 min party look with no effort.
Pigmentation: This eyeshadow being from the “foiled” collection, is intensely (and I mean “intense”) pigmented. It goes completely opaque in one layer. I find it’s best to use this shadow as an all-over lids shade packed on with a flat synthetic brush or even your finger tips.
Staying Power: Staying power is fantastic. I have worn this for 7-8 hours with barely any fading. It does crease a little 5-6 hours into wear especially on a hot humid day. To avoid this use a good primer and make sure to set it with some translucent powder to absorb all hint of oil on the lids.
Overall, I absolutely recommend this eyeshadow.
In the EOTD, I have used “Untamed” and “Curtail Call” on the eyelids.
