This review will be on the Makeup Geek foiled shadow in the shade “Jester.”
With these rich and intensely-hued shades, the new Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows go beyond your standard line of cosmetics, introducing you to a new and powerful cosmetic experience. This cutting-edge formula offers a creamy texture that is a hybrid between a powder shadow and a cream shadow that is on a level of its own. The intense pigmentation combined with an opaque, metallic finish make these shadows a dream to work with. These can be applied effortlessly in just one swipe with no primer required! Our lineup includes a diverse array of rich colors and a smooth silky formula that we believe help elevate pressed eye shadows to the next level of exceptional quality.
My Experience with Makeup Geek Jester Foiled Eyeshadow:
I love Makeup Geek shadows for the most part and the “foiled” range is simply outstanding.
Packaging: This eyeshadow comes in a pan which you have to pop into a magnetic palette. I do like the flexibility this provides for customizing a palette based on your needs, but this also means you have to shell out extra to buy the Z palette on top of buying the eyeshadow.
Texture and Blendability: I adore the texture of these Makeup Geek foiled shadows. They feel almost like a cream to touch. They adhere well even onto bare lids, but you will obviously get better wear if you pair with a primer base. I found the best way to get the most payoff with these is using your fingertips.
Shade: The shade “Jester” is described as a bright mossy green color with slight gold undertones and a foiled finish. It is such a beautiful and unique shade of green that looks great paired with brown eyes. This shade translates more as green if packed heavily but the gold undertone really pops when blended (as you can see in the EOTD).
Pigmentation: This eyeshadow being from the “Foiled” collection, is intensely (and I mean “intense”) pigmented. It goes completely opaque in one layer. This shade was no exception. It worked equally well with a brush or your fingertips.
Staying Power: Staying power is fantastic. I have worn this for 7-8hours with barely any fading or creasing.
Overall, I absolutely recommend this eyeshadow.
In the EOTD, I have “Roulette” and “Jester” on the lids (both from Makeup Geek). The gold tone in the middle is a result of blending these two shadows together (it’s not a separate shadow).
