Recently I picked up 4 shades from the new Makeup Geek Plush Lip Matte range. I have already reviewed the shade ‘Tomboy‘, ‘Plain Jane‘ and ‘Urbanista‘. Today, I am going to talk about the last and least favorite shade of mine, that is, ‘CHATTERBOX’. Let’s get started.

My Experience With Makeup Geek Plush Lip Matte Chatterbox:

Packaging and Quantity: These lippies come packaged in a pretty plastic tube with a metallic gunmetal cap with the logo of Makeup Geek embossed on the top. There is also an outer cardboard box, which has a color combination of metallic gunmetal and the actual shade of the lipstick. The shade name is present at the bottom of the box and the ingredient list is also printed on the outer box. This product has a regular flat doe foot applicator that works well on the application of the lipstick.

The packaging is quite small and cute. It is one of the smallest liquid lippies I own. Having said that, let’s discuss the quantity of this product. This product contains 0.06 oz of product for $12. Now, if we compare this with similar products in the market, we know that this quantity is so small, for example, Tarte Lip paints contains 0.20 oz product for $20. So, we actually get the 1/3rd amount of product of an actual liquid lipstick, which is ridiculous. Overall, the packaging is pretty and of good quality but the product itself is not a value for money.

Shades: There are 20 shades in the Plush Lip Matte liquid lipstick line and most of the colors are unique, not like the regular reds and pinks. I really love the shade selection. It is quite versatile and falls more on the Instagram lipstick trend. I don’t own any coral shade in my collection. When I spotted such a nice warm coral shade called ‘Chatterbox’, I picked that up. I don’t like this color at all. I feel that it’s a bit bright for my tanned skin. I also think that this will only work well on light skintones.

Makeup Geek describes the Plush Lip Matte formula as a cross between a cream and a mousse and that’s true. The consistency of this lipstick is more like a thickly whipped mousse, similar to one of my favorite formula of Tarte Creamy Matte Lip Paints. Though this line has a semi-matte finish, this particular shade has a true powder matte finish. They do come off when you eat, so you’ll need to touch up after meals.

They’re definitely not kiss-proof. This is extremely pigmented; one swipe gives a full opaque coverage. For almost all shades, the formula did not emphasize lip lines and didn’t cling to dry patches but this shade was pretty drying than others and did apply a bit streaky, and I think this happened because it’s a pretty dark shade. This shade was not that comfortable like others but it wasn’t extremely drying, and it felt like a regular liquid lipstick. This formula is smudge and transfer resistant but not smudge-proof or transfer-proof.

These have a pretty good staying power. It stays put for a good 5 to 6 hours and then fades a bit, but we can easily reapply it. As I have told before, these do transfer a bit while eating or drinking but nothing major.
