Continuing with my reviews on Makeup Geek eyeshadows, this review will be on the shade “Sensuous.” You can check out the preview and swatches of my Makeup Geek eyeshadow collection here.
Since we try to keep Makeup Geek family-friendly, it’s a challenge to describe this shadow adequately. So we’ll just leave you with this: If you want a sultry and sexy look, this sparkly plum shadow is the perfect start.

My Experience with Makeup Geek Sensuous Eyeshadow:
Packaging: This eyeshadow comes in a pan, which you have to pop into a magnetic palette. I do like the flexibility this provides for customizing a palette based on your needs, but this also means you have to shell out extra to buy the Z-palette on top of buying the eyeshadow.
Shade and Finish: Sensuous is described as a shimmery purple color with flecks of silver. It is a beautiful eggplant purple with frosty sheen with some loose specks of glitter (not the chunky kind), which I was pleased to see don’t cause a ton of fallout.
Pigmentation: I was a bit unimpressed with the pigmentation on this shade. It felt a bit more dry and stiff in the pan hence took me more effort to build it up to the intensity I liked. It took me about 2-3 layers packed on with a flat brush to get it to yield complete opacity. I wouldn’t say it’s the worst but definitely not the best compared to the other shades I have from this brand.
Texture and Blendability: This particular shade has a drier feel hence it took more effort to get it to blend well. I still wouldn’t call it difficult to work with but not as effortless as the other shades I own.
Staying Power: On top a primer, this shadow does not crease on me and retains its vibrancy throughout the day.
Overall, as you all know, I am definitely impressed by Makeup Geek shadows on the whole and I feel they truly deliver on quality at a reasonable price. While this particular shade wouldn’t be high on my list of recommendation, I still like it and believe you will not be disappointed if you decide to pick this up if this beautiful color speaks to you.
In the EOTD, I have used “Sensous” on the lid and have blended it with “Dirty Martini” in the crease and outer V.

Cons of Makeup Geek Sensuous Eyeshadow:
