Makeup Revolution Blush in Sugar Review
Hello Beautiful Ladies,
Today I will be sharing with you all my experience with a blusher called Sugar. The blush is from the brand Makeup Revolution. I didn’t know anything about the brand until I was looking for dupes for Urban Decay’s Naked palettes. That was the first time I came to know about this brand, and when I saw this on an online site in India I really got excited to buy some products from them. I did not buy any of the neutral palettes but I did get some blushers and a bright colored palette. the blush I have today is a powder blush which is available in 6 different shades.
Price:
Rs 420 for 3.4 g (it can be brought on a huge discount of 50% and the discount was not only during GOSF, it’s still on). As expected by all the foreign brands, this blush too is pricy in India. It normally retails for £1.
Packaging:
The blusher comes in a big round pan with a transparent lid. The lid opens completely making a 180° angle with the pan, which actually makes it really easy to use the blush. It is not the best packaging and is not super sturdy, but is decent enough to save the palette during travelling.
Ingredients:
Product Description:
Intense color for the cheeks for just £1 each. The color blends easily and creates a natural glow and will last all day.
My Experience with Makeup Revolution Blush in Sugar:
Color: All the 6 blushes have interesting and short names; the one I have today is called Sugar. Sugar is one of the dark colors from this range. In the pan it almost seems to be an orangey brown that is good as a bronzer, but on application it is not too dark. When actually applied it is more of a peach colored blush. It is a kind of shade that can actually double as a blush as well as a bronzer.
Pigmentation: The blusher is decently pigmented; it is not overly pigmented and so can be used without much caution. The color looks great during the days when you want to have a sun kissed look with no touch of pink, but still want some color on the cheeks.
Texture: As it is a powder blush, the application of the blush is very powdery too; it can have a lot of fallout if a brush with harsh bristles is dabbed in the pan. When applied properly, it feels really soft and is easy to blend too. If you have dry skin, the blush might seem to be drying on the skin, but it is not a major problem if a good moisturizer is used underneath.
Staying power: This is a point which makes this blush a great deal for me. The staying power of the blush is amazing. The color can stay on the cheeks for hours, still looking freshly applied. After few hours it does start to fade, but that happens with all blushes (after all it’s not something that claims to be one of the 12 hr blush).
Pros of Makeup Revolution Blush in Sugar:
- Easy to blend
- Free of shimmers
- Good pigmentation
- Super staying power
- Simple and decent packaging
- No fallouts on application with a good brush
Cons of Makeup Revolution Blush in Sugar:
- A little pricey in India
- Might seem drying on dry skin
- Contains parabens
Would I repurchase Makeup Revolution Blush in Sugar?
Presently I have 2 of these, so I might not buy more, but in the future I would love to try a shade called Wow! From their collection.
Would I recommend Makeup Revolution Blush in Sugar?
Yes! It’s a good product and if you can grab it on a discount (like I did), it’s much more than the value of money spent on it. 🙂
