Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer Review

Hi everyone,

I picked up this new launch from Makeup Revolution and was pretty excited about it. When half of the world went crazy about the awesomeness of the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, the other half criticized it badly for not including enough shades for darker skin tones. And then, when this one came out, it looked like a dupe of the Tarte concealer with a lot more shades. I have not used the Tarte one and hence will judge this one for its own performance instead of comparing both of these.

Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer Review

Price: £3.33
Product Description:
The concealer for everyone. 18 shades ranging from fair to deep, in cool, neutral and warm undertones. Lightweight yet full coverage concealer to cover blemishes, even skin tone and counteract dark circles, with a matte finish that won’t settle or accentuate fine lines and pores. Long wearing intense pigment that can also be used to contour and add definition. Our large doe foot applicator allows for smooth application that won’t drag on the delicate skin under your eyes.

My Experience with Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer:

Packaging:
The product comes in a small, cylindrical, transparent, plastic tube with a rose gold label attached to it. The label is so shiny that clicking a decent, clear picture was a major issue. It has a rose gold cap with a doe foot applicator attached to it, which makes the concealer application super easy. It is lightweight and easy to carry in your travel bags too. Overall, I won’t complain about the packaging.

Shade:
The shade ‘C13’ is for dark skin tones with warm undertone. The color of the concealer on the applicator or when it is first applied is a yellow ochre kind of shade, which is the exact color of my skin tone. But, as I blend and smudge it, it looks a lot more orange. I checked the online swatches on their website and later realized that ‘C11’ or ‘C12’ would have been better for my skin tone. C13 is something I can use to conceal dark spots and then dab some foundation over that to do away with the orange tone.

Pigmentation:
The concealer is heavily pigmented. It covers my deep chicken pox scars easily. You need a minimum amount of product to work on the dark spots and to even out the skin tone.

Texture:
The texture of this concealer I super lightweight. It spreads and blends like a dream. I have used LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer earlier and it is lighter than this one. It does not feel patchy or layered even when you layer it for a few times. It has a great matte finish but does not feel dry or flat. I love the natural finish that it provides. It does not crack or budge once set. It sets well all by itself and you do not even need to powder it. However, I prefer to powder to make it last longer.

Staying Power:
It lasts 6-7 hours on my oily skin, which is a great plus point. It looks natural and is not affected by sweat and oil. It can be removed completely with any good oil-based remover.

Overall:
I love the product although I have not picked the right shade. I obviously cannot use it as a highlighting shade but this will work as a color corrector cum concealer for me. I will repurchase it in my shade if I get a chance as it is the best concealer ever.
