Wishing you all a very Happy and Colorful Holi. I hope everyone is good and enjoying the spring. Today’s review is also about a sponsored product and this time it’s a lip lacquer from MUR.
For the most color intense lips. The high shine color that gives lips a full, bold and glossy look . Available in wide range of shades. This is the intensive color salvation for your lips. Non sticky formula with a smooth texture for long lasting vivid color.
£ 3.00 and INR 700.
The gloss tube is packed inside a rose gold colored packaging with all the details engraved in black. There is a long window made on the pack from which we can see the color of the gloss very easily. The gloss comes in a rounded, transparent tube with a black screw cap. The name of the product is written in gold on the tube. A sponge doe-foot applicator is attached to the cap. The applicator picks up a decent amount of product at one go. You can find the shade name both on the outer packaging as well as on the gloss body too. Overall, the packaging seems to be very sturdy and attractive too.
My Experience with Makeup Revolution Didn’t I Tell You Salvation Long Lasting Gloss:
Shade: The shade is a pretty deep mauve-rose pink color with very less amount of extremely tiny golden shimmer in it. The shimmer is only noticeable in the tube and not on the lips, unless you look close enough. The color is extremely pretty and girly and will suit everyone, no matter what your complexion or skin tone is. The shade will complement every skin tone and is perfect to use every day, usually for office and colleges. For extremely fair and cooler skin tones, this shade will be an apt MLBB color.
Texture/Finish and Pigmentation: The texture of the gloss is very smooth and silky. And the consistency is creamy thick. It glides effortlessly with the applicator and feels like butter on the lips. Although the lacquer is creamy thick, the formula seems to be totally non-sticky and feels like nothing on the lips. It feels very lightweight and smooth. At the same time, it provides the needed hydration to my lips throughout the day. The lacquer gives a semi glossy finish on the lips, which is not very glossy.
The name says ‘intense’ in it and yes the gloss acquires that intense pigmentation like a liquid lipstick. The product is a hybrid, a mix of a gloss and lipstick. So you can say, the pigmentation is a richly pigmented lipstick and the finish and shine is like a gloss. The lacquer goes opaque in one swipe on my lightly pigmented lips, but due to the rich pigmentation and that creamy thick consistency, proper application or spreading of the color is a bit tricky. Smoothing the color with just one coat may be difficult, so you need to just add a layer more to even it out. The product has a very mild vanilla cake kind of smell, which is not very overpowering and fades away soon from the lips. So there is no issues with an irritating smell that can bother some sensitive noses.
Staying Power: I was amazed by the wearing time that the glossy lacquer gave me. It lasted on me for 5 hours, leaving an even, strong stain of color on the lips and it wasn’t the residue kind of stain that a product leaves post fading. The product stays that long by itself, but as I ate my lunch and had water in between, it mildly faded, but a strong visible color was still there on my lips. I didn’t feel the need to re-apply it. The product seems to mildly fade after 3 hours from the inner corner of the lips. But it stays put for quiet long, if I haven’t ate anything in between.
Pros of Makeup Revolution Didn’t I Tell You Salvation Long Lasting Gloss:
- A very pretty rose pink color.
- An apt shade to wear every day.
- Feels quite comfortable and hydrating on the lips.
- Texture is very creamy and smooth.
- Being a glossy product, the lacquer is completely non sticky.
- Glides smoothly on the lips.
- Doesn’t bleed upon layering.
- Excellent staying power, even as being a glossy product.
- Staying power is amazing for 4 plus hours.
- Packaging looks attractive and travel friendly too.
- Doesn’t transfer too much and easily survives light snacking.
- Pigmentation is intense in one swipe, just like a lipstick.
Cons of Makeup Revolution Didn’t I Tell You Salvation Long Lasting Gloss:
- The creamy thick consistency of the lacquer does make the application a little uneven in one swipe. So it’ll look better with two swipes.
Would I recommend Makeup Revolution Didn’t I Tell You Salvation Long Lasting Gloss?
The product really does what it claims, it gives intense color, glossy shine and is very long lasting. And if you’re a person who likes to wear a lip color and always dab that gloss for the extra shine, I think this product is an apt choice for you. You’re getting 2 in 1, the opaque coverage of a lipstick and a gloss.
4.8/5. I have no issues with the remaining one con of the product. And I hope every one of you will agree with me.
