Although I am pretty used to doing my brows using the brown and black eye shadows, eyebrow pencils are finding their places in my stash in recent times. They are easy and convenient to use and can be used anytime and anywhere. But, I prefer the brow pencils that come with a spoolie. Firstly at times, my thick brows need no filling, but needs some brushing to remind them in their proper shape. Also, the pencils often leave some harsh lines and they can be easily fixed with the spoolie. I already have a black brow pencil from Innisfree. My Experience with Makeup Revolution Duo Brow Pencil Dark Brown:
The Pencil has a dual-ended black plastic packaging which comes in a white paper box. The box has all details mentioned on it. On one side of the pencil there is a nice, angled brow contour pencil, while the other side has a spoolie. Both the sides have tight black caps each to keep the product secure. It is actually a twist-up pencil and you can bring out as much as you need. Overall, I am happy with the packaging.
The pencil I bought is dark brown and is perfect for my brows. The color looks nearly black in a white background, so I clicked the picture against a red background to give you a proper view. I think it is perfect for dusky women with deep brown to black brows. You can use it with lighter hands or deeper strokes depending on the intensity you are looking for. Both way it shows up and fills in the brows with color. I vary the intensity depending on the area of the brow and it works perfectly for me.
I love thick, full brows and this pencil helps me to fill my little gaps perfectly. The slanted shape makes the work easier. This is thinner than the Innisfree pencil that I have and gives me better precision. I love to do the inner ends of my brow perfectly and it allows me to do that.
The spoolie is of great help too. My brows are pretty unruly and combing them alone helps to maintain a good shape when I am not even filing it. Also, often moisturizers and foundations get trapped in my brows (is it just me or happens with others too?) and make them look faded. The spoolie helps to remove such products and clean the brows. However, this spoolie in thinner than the Innisfree pencil spoolie. So, at times it feels harsh while brushing the brows. I think women with thinner brows won’t face this problem.
Often when I am in a hurry, I just brush my brows with the spoolie and I am good to go. The brows stay intact for hours. The product does not feel dry or patchy. It lasts pretty long on my oily skin. However, if you are attending an event, it is better to set the brows with a powdery product like brow powder or eye shadow. But for everyday use, this pencil is pretty good.
It is smudgeproof, water-proof and transfer-proof. I generally prefer removing it with an oil-based remover. Overall, I am pretty satisfied with the product.
