This is my second primer purchase because I hardly ever use eye shadows. Those who remember the bundle of eye palettes I have reviewed must be shocked; but I pass them on to friends and family after reviewing 😀 . This is called IMBB madness! 🙂 . Anyway, my eye shadows are used once in a year when any wedding comes up or on Eid day, so I never invest much in eye primers. Let’s see how this one fared for me.
Ensure your eyeshadow lasts all day and doesn’t crease with this revolutionary eye primer! Easily to apply with the applicator, this eye primer is a MUST HAVE for everyone’s makeup daily regime and at just £2.50, it is great value. Available in 3 shades. –Original, Brighten and Matte.
$6 (excluding shipping & taxes).
My Experience with Makeup Revolution Focus & Fix Eye Primer Original:
My first eye primer was Wet n Wild Fergie Take On The Day Eyeshadow Primer, which I purchased after reading the review on IMBB.
Packaging: Makeup Revolution Focus & Fix Eye Primer comes in a liquid concealer like tube with doe foot applicator. The tube is opaque black and applicator is good enough to ease on the usage of eye primer. It is really light weight and sturdy to carry around.
Consistency, Finish & Application: The primer has thin consistency and not too creamy. Being on the thinner side makes a plus as it spreads effortlessly on eye lids in no time and reaches all the nooks and corners of eye lid. The consistency isn’t watery to run down and look messy. Makeup Revolution Focus & Fix Eye Primer is available in three variants; original, matte and brightens. I took the original one, which has a matte finish. It blends easily with natural finish.
The Performance: First of all, the primer isn’t transparent rather it looks fair skin toned product. This is a pro and when applied it brightens up my dark, flabby eyelids 😛 . Then the thin consistency makes application easy. Now as the main function of primer, it definitely intensifies eye shades, both satin/metallic and matte ones. In matte dark colors, it brings out the true color on skin and makes lighter shades more visible with less effort. It enhances the effect of satiny eye shades and expresses metallic effect profoundly. It doubles the wear time of every eye shadow (which ever brand you are using) and slows down the fading process. It stops eye products from creasing and makes them stay in place. The product is very good overall in performance considering the price. I won’t consider it a drugstore gem, but it turned out to be a decent product.
Pros of Makeup Revolution Focus & Fix Eye Primer Original:
- Brightens up dark eyelids.
- Increases/doubles wear time of eye shadows.
- Holds eye shades in place without creasing.
- Easy to use and blends easily due to the consistency.
- Matte finish.
- No fragrance.
- Enhances the metallic effect of satiny colors.
- Brings out true intensity in matte eye shades.
Cons of Makeup Revolution Focus & Fix Eye Primer Original:
- The color intensifying quality is not too great.
- Nothing specifically as a con, but neither a drugstore gem.
- Ingredients not mentioned.
Would I repurchase/recommend Makeup Revolution Focus & Fix Eye Primer Original?
I like the product, though I don’t love it all in all. While I try out other primers, you can give this a shot if you are on budget. Just watch out for the price as the availability issue gives a lame excuse to store for price hike. I will not repurchase this because I rarely use eye shadows.
