Today I am reviewing a highlighter by Makeup Revolution. Makeup Revolution is one of my favorite affordable makeup brands. During winters, highlighting becomes the best makeup trick for me. As I have tanned skin tone, golden highlighters suit me well. Let’s get into the review.

My Experience with Makeup Revolution Golden Lights Vivid Baked Highlighter:

As I have really oily skin, I generally skip highlighter during summer. My face naturally looks so shiny during summers that I skip it. But I love highlighting my face during winters. It makes me look so gorgeous. This is one of the best and most affordable highlighters available, especially when it is on discount.

It comes in a big, round packaging with a clear lid. It’s really easy to identify the product. But there is no mirror inside the packaging. The pan is sturdy and travel friendly also. The quantity of this highlighter is really good and will last a really long time. Though it is available in other shades too, this one suits my complexion the best. This one looks like a whitish golden, not a yellow golden. It has very fine and smooth golden shimmer. It is almost a beige shade with golden shimmer. Overall the highlighter is very wearable shade for all skin tones.

When I apply it on my face, the golden shimmer is mainly noticeable and gives a luminous glow to my face. This particular shade is really pigmented. As it contains golden shimmer, only one or two swipes are sufficient. But do not put too much pressure otherwise you might end up looking like a disco ball. So actually trick is the application and the quantity. It looks perfect with bronze look and goes well with all of my blushes.

It feels light on my face. As it comes in a powder form, it never feels oily on face. The texture is smooth and shimmer is not overpowering. It feels soft against my skin and neither makes my skin oily nor highlights dry patches. But you need to spend some time in blending it properly.

So apply it with a fan brush with a light hand and then blend it. As said earlier, it takes time to get blended properly, but it’s worth it. After some time it will blend perfectly and will give a nice, subtle glow to your skin. This is a very good product to use with your party makeup and it makes strobing easy too.

It stays for almost 6-7 hours on my face, and it looks nice even after a long day. The shimmer does not spread on my face and hence, there is no mess. These factors make me so happy. But after 5 hours or so, the “glow” starts fading. I am not sure about the staying power during summers because I sweat a lot. Overall I am obsessed with this highlighter!

• Needs to be blended really smoothly otherwise will look OTT.
• The “glow” starts fading after a while.
