Last month I purchased a new eye shadow palette by Makeup Revolution and it’s called their ‘Chocolate Rose Gold Palette’. I am quite obsessed with rose gold shades and wanted to try this palette for a long time. Now, let’s get started with the review.

My Experience with Makeup Revolution I Heart Makeup I Heart Chocolate Palette Rose Gold:
Packaging:
This palette comes in a beautiful luxurious packaging with a rose gold paper box. It actually looks like a melted rose gold chocolate bar over a chocolate box. I adore this packaging and I can keep it forever. Honestly, I was attracted by its packaging too. It’s a good quality, travel-friendly box that also contains a big mirror; a dual-ended sponge applicator also comes with the packaging. Overall, I love it.
Shades and Pigmentation:
This palette contains 16 beautiful shades and all the shades have a nice warm undertone which goes well with all skin tones. Being a rose gold palette, it contains a lot of pink and mauve shades. Such shades are super trendy and look perfect on the eyes. This palette has 8 shimmery shades and 8 full matte shades. I really like the shade and texture combination in this palette.
Now, let’s talk about the shades individually:
Hold Up: This is a beautiful light peachy gold-toned highlighting shade.
Touch Me: This is a gorgeous shimmery olive green shade with a hint of brown.
Dirty Rich: It’s a beautiful shimmery cranberry shade with pink shimmer.
Hard Work: It’s a gorgeous warm gold shade but the shade is a bit patchy.
Luxe: This is a beautiful rosy pink shade but, again, it’s a patchy shade.
Cheque: This one is a gorgeous rose gold shade with a hint of copper. I love this shade.
Barbie: Like its name, it’s actually a beautiful Barbie pink shade with a sheen of rose gold. It’s actually a duo-chrome shade.
Gold Digga: This is a copper-gold shade and looks so pretty on the eyes.
Girl Boss: This is a beautiful warm mauve shade.
Uh-oh: It’s an earthy pinky-mauve shade for regular use.
Not Yours: This is a lovely bright pink shade.
Shy: This is a taupe brown shade and acts like a transition shade.
Back Up: This is warm dark chocolate brown shade.
Side-Chick: This is a pretty maroon shade and I love it.
My own: This is a warm natural brown shade with a hint of mauve.
Independent: It’s a light peachy beige shade for highlighting.
The shades are well pigmented, especially the deeper shades need one-two swipes to give the actual color payoff. Just two shimmery shades have really bad quality and they are quite patchy; even they are not well pigmented. Otherwise, the matte shades also have a good mauve tone, which makes them very wearable and perfect for a natural look. You can also easily layer up the shadows to make them look bolder. But overall, I would say, that the pigmentation could have been better.
Texture and Quality:
This palette has both shimmery and matte texture and the shades have a smooth, soft formula that blends well on the eyes and provides a natural and smooth finish. It gives a flawless even look to the eyes. Except for the gold and rosy shades, all shadows work well and never feel patchy. Especially the matte shades have a beautiful flawless finish. I love such matte formula as it blends so easily. Also, the shimmery shades work well and blend easily too. A few shades take time to get properly blended and sometimes excessive blending decreases the color intensity.
I prefer to apply them with a finger rather than a brush. The texture feels comfortable and lightweight. I really like the quality of these shadows. The shimmery shades fall out a lot during application, so I prefer to do my eye makeup first. Otherwise, it’s quite difficult to dust them off. This palette doesn’t have any dark shade for the outer corners or lower lash line. All of these shades look very subtle. You can’t even do a smoky bold look with this palette. It is apt for subtle and shimmery makeup looks.
Staying Power:
Now, coming to the staying power, these shades stay on for long on the eyes. The matte shades last around 7 hours nicely and the shimmery ones also last well even though they fall out a bit. Since the shimmery shades are patchy avoid using them on the crease and try to use a primer underneath.
Overall:
This is a super trendy eyeshadow palette that contains many beautiful shades. Makeup lovers are totally into mauve, pink and rose gold shades these days and you get all of these in one palette. So, it’s a great deal and I love the formula as well. I love the rosy pink shade but wish it had a better formula too. If you’ve checked out the Huda Beauty Dusky Rose Palette, then this one seems like a good dupe. A lot of shades are similar in these palettes but, obviously, the formulas are different.
