I am here with my first lipstick review on IMBB. Since one can never have enough lipsticks, and especially never enough red lipsticks, I went ahead and got this lipstick from the newly launched range of ‘I Heart Revolution’. This newly launched range includes 5 shades under the label of ‘Dragons Dare’ and it has various hues of the red colour in different kinds of finishes. Full disclosure: All lipsticks in this range have the texture of the dragon skin imprinted on their bullet and that was already enough reason for me to go and get it. Without further ado, let’s see how this lipstick performed.

My Experience with Makeup Revolution I Heart Revolution Dragons Dare Lipstick Flame:
Packaging:
This lipstick has an old-school packaging. The product is enclosed in a deep-red case. The cap has dragon scales drawn over it in the style of graphic novels and I love this little detail. The name of the brand is printed in purple letters at the base. The lipstick has the typical twisting mechanism and it works fine. Overall, the packaging is very travel-friendly.
The bullet of the lipstick deserves a special mention because it is so beautiful. It is marked with the imprint of dragon scales and this design simply gives an edge to this lipstick. This product will look very good in your lipstick collection.
Texture, Pigmentation and Lasting Power:
The lipstick is easy to apply, it doesn’t tug and glides on smoothly on moisturized lips. The shape of the lipstick is concave and it is coupled with a sharp tip which makes it easy to line and fill. The colour is indeed red with an orange undertone but it photographs as somewhat pinkish in daylight. The finish of the lipstick is a bit on the creamy side but it doesn’t feel heavy.
It just gives a hydrating and healthy look. The colour looks good on my skin tone and I think it will suit all Indian skin tones. There is a mild strawberry scent which reminds me of the scented erasers we had in our stationery in school. But it is not overpowering, and therefore, no worries for people with allergies or olfactory sensitivity.
Now coming to the lasting power of this product, I have a hectic work schedule with no time for touch-ups or setting up my makeup, and therefore, I prefer to invest time in the morning to set my makeup rather than relying on carrying the lipstick around. So, I do a little trick to make this lipstick last longer (without using a lip liner). The technique has been shown in detail on the Rati Beauty App by Rati Ma’am herself, so I won’t write about it.
This technique works excellent with this lipstick and the hue is still intact on your lips at the end of 8 hours. However, if I don’t use this technique in the morning, then the lipstick transfers a bit whenever you eat or drink (transfers a lot with oily food) and it’s completely gone within 4-5 hours. The lipstick is not smudge-proof. It can be easily removed with micellar water and cleansing oil. I use my Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil to remove it.
Overall:
I am very happy with the shade and packaging of this lipstick. However, its performance on its own is not so good and you need to put a bit of effort to make it last throughout the day.

• The lipstick doesn’t tug on the lips or dries them.
• The finish looks healthy and hydrating.

• Not smudge proof.
• Transfers whenever you eat or drink something.
• Additional preparation is needed to make the colour last longer.

I would recommend it only if you are willing to spend a little time in the morning to make sure this lipstick lasts. On its own, the lasting power of the product is not so good.
