A few months ago I picked up this metallic lipstick from the new ‘Unicorn’ range of I Heart Revolution. This shade, Immortal, is a bright pink with blue shimmer particles. I swatched this shade at the store and was just so in awe of the blue shimmer, I immediately bought it. Plus, I didn’t have a metallic lipstick in my collection and you can never have enough lipsticks. So, yeah, I just got it like I get rest of my lipsticks – impulsively. Read on to find out how this metallic lipstick fared for me.

My Experience with Makeup Revolution I Heart Revolution Metallic Unicorn Lips Immortal:
Packaging:
This metallic lipstick has a lipgloss-like packaging. It is sealed with a layer of plastic over it. The product is enclosed in a transparent slender tube and you can visualise how much product is left. The applicator has a small sponge. The cap has a gorgeous silver glitter colour. I absolutely love the glittery cap. Overall, the packaging is travel-friendly and simple. It’s a very standard packaging.
Finish, pigmentation and lasting power:
This lipstick glides easily on moisturized lips. It feels just like applying a gloss. It has a faint vanilla smell but it isn’t over-powering. So, people with olfactory sensitivity can definitely use it. The pigmentation is sheer, and if you have severely pigmented lips, you will need to apply a concealer underneath this product.
Upon application, the lipstick looks pink in colour and has a very subtle blue shimmer in it. This shimmer is not due to glitters, so they aren’t chunky, it’s just a part of the formulation. The finish is metallic and shiny. It’s a very pretty colour and looks great in photographs. The best part about the colour is that the blue shimmer particles are very subtle and they look beautiful. This shade will look good on fair to tanned complexions.
The lasting power of this metallic lipstick is quite decent. It transfers a tiny bit while eating and drinking. But it is nothing major. It can survive a heavy meal but then it is gone from the inner lips and stays just at the lining of the lips. However, the shimmery particles survive a heavy meal even on the inner lips.
By the end of 8 hours, the shimmery particles are still there without any re-application. Another thing I noticed was that this lipstick felt a little sticky on my lips. I didn’t find this annoying, though. My guess is it has something to do with the formulation itself to get the ‘metallic’ finish.
Overall:
I love the finish, the colour and the subtle blue shimmers in this lipstick. The lasting power is decent for a drugstore lipstick. It is meant for the festive or glamorous looks.
