I am a highlighter obsessed girl, and when I noticed this liquid highlighter by Makeup revolution, I couldn’t resist. I picked up the shade ‘Liquid Bronze Gold’, which is perfect for my tanned skin tone. Now, read on to know how it performed.

My Experience with Makeup Revolution Liquid Highlighter Liquid Bronze Gold:
Packaging:
This liquid highlighter comes in a mini bronze-gold colored glass bottle with a dropper cap. It looks so pretty and is easy to carry around. The dropper makes the application easier and helps to keep the amount getting dispensed under check. The only con is that this is a glass packaging and I have to be careful with it.
Shade:
This range has four shades and I picked up this beautiful bronze gold shade for my medium tanned complexion. Initially, I was planning to buy the ‘Gold’ shade but as I wanted to try a different shade I went ahead with this one. This is an absolutely beautiful metallic gold shade with a hint of warm bronze.
It has finely milled shimmer particles in it that look so shiny and illuminating on the skin. The shade, too, is perfect for the Indian tanned skin tones. It might look deep on fair skin tones, but if you mix it with your foundation, then it will give you that gorgeous sun-kissed look. It is the perfect shade for me to highlight and I just love the pigmentation of this product. It is super pigmented and only a drop is needed for highlighting.
Texture and Quality:
Since it’s a liquid highlighter it has a smooth, thin texture that gets blended easily on the skin; it never feels runny at all. Its soft formula glides effortlessly on the skin and feels quite lightweight as well. It never feels patchy or dry. I mostly prefer to use it on the highest areas of my face – like on the cheekbones, bridge of my nose, cupid’s bow and forehead.
It blends so quickly with a finger on these areas. I also use it with a sponge and it gets blended quickly with it as well. But, the sponge soaks up a bit of the product. So basically, you can use highlighting tool to apply and blend this product.
I also use it with my foundation and it performs so well. I love the way it gives a beautiful, flawless dewy finish to my skin. I mostly prefer to use it with my liquid foundations to make them dewy and it works so pretty well. I love the finish it gives to my skin.
It contains shimmer but it never looks overpowering as a highlighter. But the shimmer particles are quite visible on the skin when I mix this with my foundation. In fact, they become quite prominent if my foundation fades away. So if you are not comfortable with its shimmery finish then use it only as a highlighter.
For me, it works well in both the ways and I somehow love this product. It never highlights my dry patches but I personally do not like to use it as my base makeup. You might have seen how Instagrammers are using such liquid highlighters to create a dewy base for makeup but this one is a bit OTT for that trick. In fact, it can highlight dry patches. So, it is best to mix this with a foundation and then apply. Just blend it with Beauty Blender and it will give a gorgeous finish.
Its finely milled shimmer gives a beautiful and illuminated look to the skin, which is perfect for a glowing makeup look. It gives a seamless dewy-metallic finish and the glow is to die for. If you are a ‘highlighter-on-fleek’ person then you will love it. It reflects so perfectly in the pictures and gives your skin the ultimate glow.
It never settles into the fine lines or creases and keeps the skin fresh for long. It never makes my skin oily but such highlighters are best suited for heavy glowing makeup looks and not for everyday use. Since I love to highlight my face this product perfect for me. Please note, it is not at all like a strobe cream. A strobe cream looks more natural on the skin while this one adds illumination.
Overall:
The effect lasts long as well. It stays for around 7-8 hours on the skin. I am not sure how it will behave during summers, but for now I love this product. This is one of the most gorgeous shades I have. If you have extremely dry and patchy skin then make sure you exfoliate and moisturise it before using this highlighter. Also, it might seem expensive but it will last long. Overall, this is a good highlighter with a nice lightweight formula.
