Hi ladies!

Now I’m really feeling like it’s the Rainy season! You just cannot believe that it’s summer. It’s been drizzling here since yesterday! The super cold breeze and wet mud smell is just making me lazy and all I want to do is snuggle in my bed and hope this weather lasts! Anyway, today I’ll be introducing a Lip Power to you guys! Makeup Revolution has launched Lip Powers, which means both a lipstick and gloss together, that of a 2-in-1 product 🙂 . It seemed interesting to me so I ordered it online. Let’s see how it fares!
Price:

800 INR I think.
Description:
POWER for your lips! Wear separately or wear together! Get the power! Give your lips real power, a duo lipstick and lipgloss in one! A satin matte lipstick in a moisturing formula and a super slick lipgloss with a hint of shimmer, Wear the lipstick or wear the lipgloss or wear the lipgloss over the lipstick! Revolution tip: Use the gloss as a highlighter and just apply to the middle and on the top of the cupid’s bow for a fuller look!
My Experience with Makeup Revolution London Lip Power Everything’s Alright:
Packaging: This baby comes housed in a black case with gold details on it. The top of the lipstick case is transparent letting you peek through to see the lipstick shade. The gloss comes in a transparent tube which can be unscrewed. The wand of the gloss is short and has an applicator which helps spread the gloss evenly and easily. The packaging is quite elegant and innovative. I really like the packaging of it. They can be traveled with, but is just a wee bit bigger than your usual lipsticks.
Colour/Pigmentation: Let’s talk about the lipstick first. When I saw it online and on the MUR’s site, the swatch of it showed the colour as an orange lipstick. That was the main reason I decided to buy this one instead of the red one. But in actuality it isn’t even close to orange. It’s a milky peachy nude shade. Although it’s a really beautiful shade, it almost washes me out! It would look excellent on fair skinned beauties, but not us- medium to dark skinned beauties! The pigmentation is also good. Two swipes are enough to cover the lips. If you layer on more, it starts looking cakey. As is it looks good, but to make it look even better, use the gloss. The gloss is sheer with a slight hint of peach and has golden shimmer. I really love the gloss. This gloss will just make any peach/pink/nude lipstick 10 times better.
Texture: Here’s the drawback. This lipstick is creamy, but it doesn’t spread evenly. Although it doesn’t tug or pull, the application is uneven, no matter how carefully you apply it. The texture is almost chalky. You have to use your fingers to smooth out the lipstick properly over your lips. It settles to almost like a powdery matte finish. It doesn’t dry out the lips. But don’t even think of using this lipstick over dry lips. It will emphasize all the dry areas of your lips. You have to apply a lip balm first, then slightly remove the balm and then apply this lippie. Because it doesn’t apply much over a lip balm. Or if you don’t want to go through all that, use the gloss! 🙂 The gloss is thin, but not too watery. It is just of a perfect consistency. It has a little bit of stickiness that a gloss should have. The glitters are very finely milled so you don’t feel them. The gloss moisturises the lips, but doesn’t hydrate them.
Staying power: It stays on for 5 hours with the gloss. It fades with meals and talking. It leaves a beautiful natural pink stain on your lips. Some of the shimmer remains, but just about 5-10%, which is forgiveable. 🙂
Smell/Taste: The lipstick has a funny smell to it. Thought. the gloss smells like orange cream biscuits, which I really love. It is also not over powering in any way. It hardly lingers post application. 🙂
