Makeup Revolution London Pressed Powder Review

Hello IMBBians…!!

I am back with a review after a long time. I had been off from writing for IMBB for almost six months because I had a very hectic semester to handle. Also, there was the pressure of the approaching placement season. I am glad to share with you all that I am finally placed in Morgan Stanley and I am seriously on cloud nine right now. Coming on to the product that I am going to review today is a pressed powder from the much raved about brand, Makeup Revolution London. Read on to know how it fared for me.

My Take On Makeup Revolution London Pressed Powder:

Makeup Revolution London Pressed Powder comes in a circular pan. The packaging was a little bit confusing to open for me and I had a hard time figuring it out. The packaging is transparent from the top and black from the sides. In the bottom, it has a small attached mirror. You need to remove the sticker to use the mirror. The packaging is also quite interesting, as it has a small sponge case beneath the powder. Over all, it is very innovative as well as travel friendly. The sponge that comes with the pressed powder is perfect for application.

The powder feels very smooth to touch. You do not get that powdery feeling that you get with many pressed powders. I apply it with the sponge accompanied with it and it does not give you that cakey feeling. It would not be easy to apply this pressed powder with a brush. The powder does give medium coverage but does not hide imperfections. I recommend using this powder alone because the use of a foundation beneath it might give you OTT look.

The pressed powder does help in reducing shine for about 2 to 2.5 hours even in this hot and humid weather. My skin is extremely oily during summers and this powder does its job pretty well by keeping the oil at bay for 2 hours. It does not have any drying effect on my skin. But, I still need to try it in the winters, when I have very dry facial skin. The shade “translucent” is just the perfect shade as it suits my fair skin tone with yellow undertones. At times, I just use this pressed powder, kajal and a lip balm for a natural look.

Pros Of Makeup Revolution London Pressed Powder:

  • Creative packaging.
  • The sponge is just perfect for application.
  • Smooth texture.
  • Perfectly suits my skin tones.
  • Helps in keeping oil at bay, in summers.
  • Does not dry out skin
  • Easily available and not expensive

Cons Of Makeup Revolution London Pressed Powder:

  • Can not be used with a foundation as it would look too cakey.
  • People with dry skin might find it too drying.
  • The staying power may be less for some people but it works for oily skin.

My rating:
4/5

Would I Recommend Makeup Revolution London Pressed Powder?

Ladies with oily skin can definitely try this out. It might turn out to be your perfect budget pressed powder. I am quite impressed with it and would continue using it, until I find something better than this. Dry skin beauties can use this with a good moisturizer beneath it.

  1. Congratulations on your placement, wish you lots of luck! Very well reviewed, though my skin does not really need this. Looking forward to more reviews. 🙂

  2. Congratulations, its Morgan Stanley! ;P
My skin is dry to normal. I do not think this would be of much help to me 🙁
