My Experience with Makeup Revolution London What I Believe Velvet Lip Lacquer:

Packaging: The immediate packaging of the gloss is a nice, shiny rose gold cardboard box with all details printed in black. There is a small window made on the box which allows you to see the shade inside. The name of the product is written in golden fonts on the gloss tube. There is also a tiny sticker on the gloss tube bearing the shade name. The lacquer comes in a regular style transparent cylindrical gloss tube, with a black screw cap to which the wand applicator is attached. The applicator is a doe- foot sponge one which picks adequate amount of product to complete both lips at once.

Shade and Application: What I believe, it is a n*de peachy baby pink color. The color is totally cream, absolutely no shimmers or sheen. The shade is very tricky for many skin tones; however cool and fair skin tones can nicely carry this shade. The shade looks very soft and subtle and hence can be easily worn to formal places. I would suggest darker and yellow skin tones to skip this shade.

Now I’ll share some of my personal application tips for this lacquer. You need to apply the color very carefully to avoid any mistakes; I’ll suggest using a nude pink lip liner to line the edges of lips before hand for precise application. This shade once applied looks really streaky, but one can definitely layer it on for an even finish of color. Next never try to rub your lips, until the lacquer dries up completely. Especially don’t rub your lips immediately when the lacquer has been layered, it can feel dry but still give it a few more minutes to set nicely as rubbing can make it turn patchy. Try to keep your lips apart for a few minutes, as this will avoiding sticking and chipping of the color in the inner parts of the lips and the final result will be a nice smooth layer of the super matte lacquer.

Texture, Pigmentation and Finish: The lacquer has a very smooth and creamy texture to it. It applies effortlessly on lips. The consistency of the lacquer is creamy thick. The lacquer feels comfortable on lips. The hydration is sufficient for normal lips but dry lips will need to top it with a balm or gloss. The lacquer sets dry after a few second of application, once dry it won’t budge or transfer to anything. For the matte finish it emphasizes dry areas of lips easily. So exfoliating lips is necessary. Being so richly pigmented and thicker in consistency the lacquer is a bit difficult to apply evenly on lips. And since they dry out quite fast you need to be very careful while applying them evenly inside the lip line. The lacquer is very pigmented, with one swipe it covers flaws of lips very nicely. The lacquer gives a true matte finish which has a velvety touch to it.

Staying Power: Once it dries, it lasts quite long on me. The lacquer gives me a wear time of 8+ hours without fading. But the lacquer has the tendency to fade from the inner parts of lips after eating heavy or oily foods. They generally don’t transfer to cutleries but they somehow can’t withstand large bites of food.

Will I Recommend Makeup Revolution London What I Believe Velvet Lip Lacquer?
I am not saying it at all by myself. If you liked the shade in the swatches it’s totally your choice. But definitely darker skin tones can give this shade a pass. Well I’ll just say the range is quite good and everyone should give a try to these affordable lip lacquers.
