My Experience with Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Lipstick Diamond Life:
Makeup Revolution is known for the dupes it has of the other luxury brands. I share a love-hate relationship with this brand where some of its products are too good and some just do not deliver quality.
I picked up the Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Lipstick in the shade Diamond Life during my search for a darker shade lipstick.
The packaging of the lipstick is the eye-catcher here. The rose gold shade metal tube glistens immensely giving it a very classy and luxury feel. The shade mark plastic bottom makes it so easy to identify the lipstick shade. The metal cap closes tightly, hence, making it travel-friendly.
The texture of the lipstick is smooth for a matte one and glides well on the lips. It stays put for about 3 to 5 hours after which it needs a reapplication. It has a very slight smell, nothing bothering as such. It appears completely matte in the tube but after applying on the lips, it gives a slight satin finish.
The shade Diamond Life is quite opaque. This shade is a vampy black cherry/deep purple sort of shade. It appears very dark in the tube, although when you swatch, it appears lighter. After a couple of hours, when the lipstick starts to come off, it leaves a strong tint of bright purple, which I am not really fond of. Hence, I reapply it frequently to avoid that stained look which I find very ugly.
This shade would go well on medium and darker skin tones. I am medium skin toned and have very pigmented lips. This lipstick covered all the pigmentation being so opaque. It’s a perfect shade to wear during an evening party or occasion. If you like darker lipstick shades, this one is definitely worth a try being so affordable!
