I got loads of products from this brand and I must admit that this is one of the best brands available that offers good quality products for an amazing price. So as you all know I have an obsession over orange lipsticks and I somehow had to get my hands onto the orange lip products that this brand offers. This brand has thoroughly impressed me and I just wish that they come up with a few more orange lip products soon. So today, I will be reviewing Makeup Revolution Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer in the shade “Keep Flying For You.”

My Experience with Makeup Revolution Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer in Keep Flying For You:
Makeup revolution velvet lip lacquer comes in an outer rose gold card borad packaging that has the list of ingredients mentioned on it. The packaging opens to reveal the lip lacquer that comes in a sleek cylindrical transparent tube form with a black cap. Name of the product is mentioned on the tube in bold gold letters and the shade name is mentioned on a tiny sticker at the end of the tube. You wouldn’t even notice the shade name sticker as it is tiny and you would need microscopic eyes to actually read it. The see-through tube makes it easy to spot the shade quickly from your makeup stash. The cap closes securely, so there are no chances of the product leaking out, therefore making it travel friendly. This lip lacquer has a long wand with a doe-foot sponge applicator for application.
“Keep Flying For You” is a gorgeous super bright peachy orange shade with no shimmer or sheen. The color is really bright and neonish if worn with full intensity (that is by directly applying the color with the wand like how you would apply a lip gloss). A person like me who doesn’t shy away from bright orange lipsticks also couldn’t muster up the courage to wear it with full intensity, but there is a way to make the color work, that is by just dotting the product on the lips and spreading and blending it on your lips with your finger. This way, the color doesn’t look stark neonish, but looks more wearable and easy to carry out.
Texture of this lip lacquer is thick and creamy. It is like a liquid lipstick that is not runny. It is easy to apply and spread the color on the lips. You don’t require any lip balm underneath the lip lacquer, but your lips need to be thoroughly exfoliated before you apply the product because once the product settles, it becomes completely matte and can enhance the dry, flaky areas of the lips.
I hated this product before I actually learnt how to apply it well. The initial mistake that I used to commit was that I would purse my lips together in order to spread the color and make it look even, like how we normally do when we apply any lipstick. But as soon as I would do that immediately after applying the color, the color would get patchy and would look horrid and there was no way to fix it up. It just felt like I had wasted my money on this product and totally ignored it.
But that was until I found the right way to apply it. You can actually follow this way to get a perfect finish of color on the lips.
- Firstly exfoliate your lips well, in case you have applied a lip balm, just blot it away.
- Then take the lip lacquer and dot a little product on your lips with the applicator wand.
- Then quickly spread the color on your lips with the help of your finger. You can you a lip brush too, but you need to be fast. Because the color sets within seconds, and the color won’t move, and even if you try- you will get a patchy finish.
- Let the color dry completely and be careful not to purse your lips together at all.
- You can layer it up after the first layer is completely dry.
Always keep in mind, never to purse/ rub your lips together until the color has not dried down completely.
Once you follow these steps, you would be amazed with the lovely velvet matte finish you get, which just doesn’t bleed, budge or transfer. The product feels sticky till it settles down and once it is totally matte, it becomes non sticky and light weight and you will even forget that you have applied something on your lips.
Keep Flying For You lip lacquer is intensely pigmented. You require very little product to get a rich opaque color on your lips. Though it settles to a matte finish, it doesn’t dry out your lips or settle in the fine lines of the lips.
This lip laquer lasts really really long. It stays intact on the lips for 8 hours and more, looking as fresh as new, until you don’t eat or drink anything. Once you have your meals, the color starts to crumple from the centre of the lips leaving only an outer ring of color on your lips. And to fix it up, you need to reapply the color because by just pressing the lips together doesn’t work in making it even again.
This color doesn’t leave any stain behind and you don’t require any extra efforts to get the color off your lips.
