Makeup Revolution Sugar and Spice Ultra Blush and Contour Palette Review

I’m finally back on IMBB after a long break, and very happy indeed. I cannot stress enough on how much I’ve missed being on my favorite blog and the sweet people on it.  How have all you beautiful people been?

I have a few reviews jotted down for you guys, from products I’ve tried and liked to products that I’ve been disappointed with. Today will be a review of one of the best blush palettes I own, and have been using ever since I got it; it’s called the “Makeup Revolution- Ultra Blush and Contour palette in Sugar and Spice”. I have been waiting to review this baby for quite some time now, but I was caught up with the post marital bliss and getting adjusted with my new family! Anyway, Makeup Revolution is a brand that we are all aware of and it has some of the finest makeup products, which most drugstore brands fail to offer. Let’s see what this beauty in black has to offer:

Claims:

Professional and highly pigmented, yet easy to blend, these contain 8 shades consisting of shimmer and matte blushers, merged baked blusher, and merged baked highlighter powder. The ULTIMATE blush palette offering you 8 shades in 1 to suit any occasion! 8 exclusive and unique shades in each palette can be either used individually or combined to create the shade that you want. With a selection of matte and shimmers, merged and highlighting powder in each palette and set in a mirrored compact for touch ups on the go. Available in 2 palettes – 8 unique shades in each”

Price: 8 pounds each.

Packaging: It comes in a compact black packaging, similar to the eye shadow palettes from the brand. Makeup revolution written on the top while the bottom showcases other details. It is extremely light-weight and can be taken along while travelling as well. I love how it has a nice and pretty big mirror on the inside making an even better deal.

Color: The palette comes with eight beautiful colors which are a mix of shimmer and matte. It also contains two highlighting colors, what more does anyone want? It has beautiful pinks and peachy colors perfect for both day and night looks. I wouldn’t say this palette is good for contouring though, the top two colors meant for the purpose of contouring work better as blushes, as they are too light to be used as contour shades. On the other hand, the two highlighters give your cheeks a gorgeous glow without looking gaudy. However, I prefer gold highlighting colors over silver, but I still love it!

Pigmentation: Coming down to the pigmentation, the blushes are superbly pigmented, you just need one dip and you are good to go. It is better to always dust off the excess before layering it on your skin, or you are just going to end up looking like a clown! You can over-do the darker shades, but the pinks are colors you need to be very careful with.

Texture: Unlike most blushes, this baby does not have a chalky finish at all. It goes on the skin very smooth and there is no wastage of product, whatsoever. The blend onto the skin seamlessly and look extremely beautiful. No matter what skin color you have, the colors in this palette will look amazing on you.

Staying Power: I have been using this palette for more than two months, and by far, I haven’t noticed any wear-off’s, it stays put for a good 7-8 hours, which I think is more than enough. I give it a thumbs up for good staying power.
