Makeup Revolution The Matte Effect Foundation Review

Hi ladies,

I am on an eternal hunt for a suitable daily wear foundation. I want something that would look flawless, but not made up. I don’t mind wearing foundation for an everyday makeup look as well. Currently, I am happy with Maybelline Fit Me Foundation. I bought this foundation seeing the “matte” label. So, check out how it fared for me 🙂

My Experience with Makeup Revolution The Matte Effect Foundation:

This foundation comes in a simple, good quality tube which is easy to use. There is no pump provided, but this, you could, very well use like a BB cream. I did not find the color “Golden” a good match for me. This would suit NC 30 skin tones. On my cheeks, it looks fine, but on the darker areas, like my forehead – this really looks ashy.

This foundation provides very light coverage. If you are blessed with problem-free skin, you could try it in place of your BB or CC cream.

For me, the coverage was disappointing. It tends to cling to the dry patches on the face during winters. It looks ashy too. I did not find it very matte, I just find it like a light-coverage BB cream. Though it is not shiny or illuminating, this is not very matte either. This does add brightness to the face like any cc cream.

This started getting oily on my cheeks after three hours. Overall, it sat on my skin for 6 hours. I have to set it with a powder for sure or else it might just vanish, giving me bare, “no-coverage” skin. The foundation does not oxidise but I am not confident with flash photography with this on. The 16-hour claim is really far fetched.

Pros of Makeup Revolution The Matte Effect Foundation:

  • Light for day wear.
  • Could replace your bb or cc cream.
  • Easy-to-dispense tube.
  • Not cakey.
  • Does not oxidize.

Cons of Makeup Revolution The Matte Effect Foundation:

  • Hardly provides any coverage.
  • 16-hour staying power is far fetched.
  • My skin becomes oily in three hours.
  • Needs to be set with a powder.
  • Clings to dry patches.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Makeup Revolution The Matte Effect Foundation?
No, just for a light coverage, in case you have problem-free skin. otherwise, it is not my favourite.
