I got my hands on the Makeup Revolution Lip Hugs recently and observed that this range has an amazing and a massive variety of neutral shades which are apt for daily wear and great for workplaces. The shades are very close to each other. Among the 5 I picked, 3 are very close to each other and they are Keeps the Planet Spinning, We Have Come Too Far and Saviour Will Come. Hence it would be really okay if you just pick one because they don’t have much difference. Read to know more about this shade.

My Experience with Makeup Revolution We Have Come Too Far Lip Hug Lipstick:

I recently got tons of these lip hugs because they had extremely cute names and amazing colour selection too. I think the shades describe the kind of situations you go through in a relationship and what shade exactly matches that situation. Don’t you think this concept is damn cute? I will bifurcate its properties into different categories.

Packaging: The packaging is very simple and decent. The lip hugs come in a little glossy and metallic blood red box. The box has a little sticker over the top with the shade colour and the name written over it which makes it easy to identify if you have a few of these. The lipstick comes in a very basic black packaging with the shade name and colour similarly on the bottom like the box. I wish they had made the packaging a bit fancy. These lip hugs are little in size so can easily fit in the pocket, vanity, make-up bag or your big hand-bag.

Shade, Finish and Consistency: The shade “We Have Come Too Far” is a light brown with a blend of peach hints to it, which adds warmth to the brown. It is not any close to a boring brown, in-fact you can always come to this if you are fed up with the regular browns. It looks very flattering on fair to medium skin-tones and can also be very close to a MLBB hade for a few. This is a good option to go with if you do not like wearing bright and fresh peaches with coral hints as this does not wash out the skin-tone. However, it might wash out the dusky skin-tone a bit, so try it at the counter before you pick this. I can surely say that this colour is apt for daily wear and workplaces too as this makes you face look beautiful without adding that bold lips look. It adds a lot of glow and brightness to my face.

Initially in just one swipe it does not look that intense, but after a couple of swipes it looks bright. The shade is pretty much buildable, one or two strokes will give out a very neutral shade while 3-4 strokes make it more intense. It is apt for any time of the day and also for any age group! Also, after 10-15 minutes of application, the colour intensifies and changes itself a bit. The consistency is brilliant! It glides on the lips like a buttery lip balm and keeps my lips hydrated through-out the day. It does not settle into fine lines, also it does not bleed; nor does it accentuate on dry patches. It is a great go to shade when you probably do not have the time to do make-up but do not want to go out without make-up 😛 Also such neutral shades are amazing ones to pick when you love creating smokey and dramatic eye make-up.

Staying Power: The staying power of this particular lip hug is average. It stayed for 3 hours on my lips completely with food and drinks. Being a light shade, it will not survive continuous munching and hence will fade away quickly. The lipstick turns semi-matte after a while because the glossiness starts to reduce as you start munching. Although the entire colour goes at the end, a stain is left for a little while and then fades off because the colour is very close to a MLBB one, although the bold shades from this range leave a very good and a bright stain behind.

• It is a very different shade and can’t be duped easily.
• It will compliment fair to medium skin-tones brilliantly.
• It has a glossy texture which gives hydration like a lip balm and my lips never feel dry with this.
• It does not settle in fine lines, does not bleed and also does not cling to dry areas on the lips.
• It has a good staying power of 3-4 hours with snacks and drinks.
• It is a very appealing and a decent shade for workplaces.
• Not tested on animals.

Cons of Makeup Revolution We Have Come Too Far Lip Hug Lipstick:

• Not for matte lovers.
• The packaging is boring.
• Washes out dusky skin-tone.

Will I Repurchase/Recommend Makeup Revolution We Have Come Too Far Lip Hug Lipstick?

Yes, it is a pretty looking mild brown shade with peach hints that looks very flattering. I won’t buy this again because I like bolder shades more than the daily-wear ones!
