Makeup Suggestion for Copper-Blue Saree : Ask IMBB

Ask IMBB Gang

Padmini Asks:

This week my sister is getting engaged. The saree is a traditional Pattu/Zari copper sulpahe blue sari with heavy golden Zari.

I was planning on the eye makeup look.

Could you guys please suggest.I am browsing the net from past 1 hr and unable to decide.

Should we go for all blue makeup or all golden makeup or a mix. Please suggest.

Also, is it a must we have to match the eyeshadow with the outfit. how about a light pink gloden color for eye shadow.

Please Help.

  1. I will copy-paste my comment again….
Hello Padmini, according to me there is no need to match the e/s with saree…..I guess gold with little hint of blue will do the trick….even blue smudgy eyeliner will work with gold e/s.
Or just nice gold e/s with smokey eyes and pink lips.

    Hope this helps! :))
And a hearty congrats to your sister. :-* :-* :-*

  2. Padmini, you really dont have to mix and match your clothes and eye makeup. I personally like to have a hint of colour from my clothes on my eyes especially when i am wearing traditional dresses but that’s something very personal. Simple copper gold eye makeup or something like this https://makeupandbeauty.com/indian-wedding-makeup-look-tutorial/

This one is a little dramatic https://makeupandbeauty.com/diwali-makeup-tutorial-glitterly-golden-blue-eyes/

            1. Yaaaaaaaaaa…only worries should be…ohhhhhooo so many bags and only 2 SAs to carry everything to the car…..

  3. I liked all the looks Rati suggested…..specially Deeptima’s and Rati’s…go for either one!
Both are pretty for engagement :))

  4. Get the colorbar’s copper crush single e/s. Its really gr8 for a bride. I mean i loved it very much.. I wore maroon copper worked saree and it went nicely wit it. I used it on my lids. Along with dat for outer corner i used the darkest shade in lakme desert rose e/s pallete.
And it was perfect without lookin overdone…

  5. padmini…. are / were you a science student? i can’t imagine anyone else calling a color copper sulphate blue!!! incidentally, thats what i call it too πŸ˜†

  6. Anks – actually many ppl call it that….from when I can remember that particular shade of blue has always been called copper sulfate blue by everyone in my family including my reallllllllllly old old grandma

  7. You getting married???? Me got confooosed reading comments ?:) ?:) ?:) ?:) ?:) Or should i Not be asking this here cos well then just ignore my question and Rati can delete it later 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐

  8. There are so many blues…like copper sulphate blue…Ananda blue…

especially these are used in a south indian pattu saree shops…

these all are such great colors…

  9. traditional Pattu/Zari copper sulpahe blue sari with heavy golden Zari.
    waaaaaooooooo
i wanna see the sari first padmini 😐

  10. You know Padmini I noticed that you were also contemplating a pink e/s and I find that sometimes when the colors are quite bright as in the case of CS blue a complementing color can look just as good as a matching color, however it can also look OTT. so a light pink pink wash of color with heavy black liner would work but bright pink eyeshadow would not … Jinal suggested gold/blue eyes with pink lips which sound great as do any of the looks suggested by Rati…

Personally because CS Blue is such a lovely blue color you need to be careful yet brig out the best in the saree so I would opt for black smokey eyes with just a hint of blue in the lower lash line , teamed with pink lips. But this is what i would do personally, just to make people notice the blue saree and make the eyes stand out at the same time.

I am sure whatever you choose to do, you will look gawjus on the wedding

And dont worry so much … the best part abt makeup is that its so much fun !
