1. Invest in an eyeshadow primer:

Girls having hooded eyes should essentially invest in a good quality eye primer so their eye makeup does not smear or smudge. Some great eye primers that women across the world swear by are Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion and Inglot Eye Makeup Base.

2. Keep your eyes open while dolling up:

It’s best to keep your eyes open while applying eyeliner or eye shadow because it can be hard to find the natural crease of your eyes when you keep them closed. Instead, close them halfway if needed and try to keep them as open as you can.

3. Apply eyeshadow above your crease:

Girls with hooded eyes should not apply their eye shadows under the crease like they generally do. Instead, you should apply the eye shadow above the crease, so that it shows and is not hidden between the fold of your eyes. Also, if you are new to applying eye makeup, apply the eye shadow in a straight line from the center of your eyes straight outwards.

4. Winged eyeliner can save the day:

The upward flick of winged eyeliner will give your eyes an illusion of being pulled up as opposed to being pulled down and this makes your eyes look bigger and wide open, instead of small and closed. However, don’t draw a very thick line of eye liner as that can give an illusion that you have covered your whole eyelids with a thick layer of black eye shadow.

5. Tightline:

Tightlining your eyes will be your best bet if you feel that even a little bit of eyeliner makes your eyes look small and more hooded. However, tightlining is not recommended for everyday makeup and should be done occasionally with patience and a gentle hand.

6. Cut crease eye look can your best bet:

Trying out a cut-crease look will give your hooded eyes an illusion of a higher crease which will make your eyes appear non-hooded. Also, you can experiment a lot with cut-crease makeup as the choices of shapes and shades are endless.

7. Use sweatproof and waterproof liner and mascara:

Since in hooded eyes, the crease of your eyes is way too close to your lid, there are chances of getting your liner or mascara all over your creases and lids. You should invest in waterproof and sweatproof eye makeup which will stay in place all day long, even in hot and humid weather, and won’t budge.

8. Apply faux lashes that have gaps in them:

Steer clear of thick and dramatic lashes as they can further hide your eye shadow and eye makeup. Instead, opt for long lashes that are not very dense and even have little gaps in between.

9. Get inspiration from celebrities having hooded eyes:

If you are having problems creating looks that work and look good on you, it never hurts to take a little help from Google and search for your favorite celebrities who have hooded eyes and see how they do their eye makeup. This will save you a lot of time and effort and you will get an idea as on what works well for mesmerizing and intriguing eyes like yours.

That’s all for today, girls! Hope this helps. 🙂
