Make Up For Ever released a new range of Artist Plexi-gloss which comes in an astounding range of 35 (Yes 35 !!) shades from transparent all the way to black and everything in between. I picked up 2 shades from this range to give a go and let all you readers know whether this product is worth the bucks. This review is on the shade 304 – Red Coral.
About The Product:
A triple-impact lip gloss with vivid color and high-shine that stays put.
What it does:
Impart vivid color and stunning shine. This innovative, non-sticky gloss goes on smoothly and creates both pearly and non-pearly finishes for a stunning look. Its pigments are packed with Plexi Color Technology to deliver up to five hours of color impact while 360-degree, reflective shine beads maximize shine. The exclusive, artist-designed superflex applicator features a lip-hugging shape that allows for precision and control, and the super-loaded split-tip has a unique contour to sweep on the ideal amount of lip lacquer.
What else you need to know:
DanySanz, MAKE UP FOR EVER Founder and Creative Director, was inspired by one of her favorite objects, a plexi glass makeup case. Together, Dany and the MAKE UP FOR EVER lab developed a new technology of pigments amplified with a high vinyl finish that would replicate the case’s unique look and feel.

My Experience with Makeup Up For Ever #304 Red Coral Artist Plexi-Gloss Lip Lacquer
Comes in a tradition lip gloss round tube. The tube is fatter than lip glosses I have used in the past and the biggest difference with this product is the wand. It doesn’t have traditional doe-foot applicators which most of us have used and are comfortable with, but instead comes with a rounded paddle style applicator. The applicator has a slight cut on one side which claims to be a “gloss reservoir” to collect the perfect amount of lip product. I am not sure how the cut is supposed to help with that but never the less the applicator is easy to use once you get the hang of it. You need to coat the lips like paint with this style of applicator and you cannot go back and forth like you do with doe-foot applicator as that will surely create a mess. The wand is a big hence I can see this being an issue for people with thin lips.
Texture/Consistency& feel on lips:
This gloss is slightly on the thicker side. It coats the lips completely in a thick layer of color and does provide hydration too. It has a slight tacky/ sticky feel to it nothing bothersome. This is one of those glosses which will definitely have your hair get stuck in it on a windy day. But overall, this is quite comfortable on the lips.
This range of makeup forever glosses has hit and misses on pigmentation. I have read people complain that the lighter colors are very sheer and lack pigmentation hence, I only picked up the deeper brighter and most opaque colors. The colors I got have full opacity on the lips. They do have a high glossy shine and do not contain any shimmer. There are some shades in the range which have shimmers too which I did not pick since I am not a huge fan of shimmery lips.
The 304 is described as red coral. It is beautiful orange- reddish coral shade. This shade is very summery and brightens up the face. The high shine gives it that extra dimension and make the lips look pouty and full.
I was very impressed with the staying power of this gloss. It stayed on my lips for 4 hours and survived through snacking and drinks breaks. I believe the thickness of this gloss helps in giving in better staying power. It does transfer. The best part about this gloss is that it leaves a stain behind on the lips. See the attached picture of my lips after 6 hours of application. This was after the gloss faded on its own after 4 hours. During the wear time, I had not done any touch ups.
Overall, Yes I am really liking this range of lip gloss by MUFE. I will recommend them.
