Today, I bring to you a review of Mally Ever color Shadow stick in the shade “Rosy Taupe.”

Product Description:

The Shadow Stick is your primer, shadow base, and eye shadow all in one. You can also use it as an eyeliner. It won’t come off until you take it off! You can use it to line and define or create a quick smokey eye. The creamy texture helps to smooth out fine lines. Once your beautiful eye look is complete you can be sure it will stay fresh all day long!  Not tested on animals.

How To Use:

Stroke the Evercolor Shadow Stick across the eye, smudging quickly if a softer look is desired.Take the line just beyond the natural end of the lid to widen your eyes.Lightly line across the top or bottom lash line to achieve that great soft, smudged liner look.

My Experience with Mally Evercolor Shadow Stick – Rosy Taupe:

Even though I love taking my my time creating that perfect eye look , there are some days where I am in a rush and just want to “apply and go” while still making it look fabulous. This is what I had expected when I went out to purchase this product. I am pleasantly pleased with this product on certain aspects while in some, it has not been super impressive.

Packaging and Application:

I love the very simple, fuzz-free tube which opens up and reveals the domed creme shadow. I love the fact that it never needs sharpening and application is super easy.  If you can draw with a crayon, you can just as easily use this. It goes on super smooth and evenly. Blending it is also very easy and I mostly use my fingers for it, but a brush can be used as well. It does set quickly, so you have less than a minute to get it blended.

Shade and Pigmentation:

The color does go opaque in one swipe, but I do prefer to make it more intense with multiple swipes.  I need multiple swipes because the shade which I own “Rosy Taupe” resembles very closely to my eyelid shade hence I do have a difficult time getting it to show true to color. I don’t think this would have been a problem if I were to use a deeper shade from the “Evercolor shadow stick” range. I don’t think this particular shade will show up well if you have dusky or dark skin tones, also it does not work too well on people with very dark circles and deep pigmentation around the eyes like me. On lighter skin tones, I think this shade would look amazing.

The shade “Rosy Taupe” looks very natural on my lids and almost imparts a no-makeup look which can be both a pro and con. It works wonderfully on days when I am going for the simple natural look, but it just doesn’t work well if I were to create dramatic looks. In that case, I use this shade as a base, which this product performs fabulously.  It makes my powder shadows adhere without the need to use any primer and it also helps with their staying power remarkably vs using it just alone without any primer. It does have a very high sheen but I could not find any visible gritty shimmer particles.

Staying Power:

Mally claims her shadow sticks are bullet proof, which I believe implies that they have amazing staying power and do not budge. It is indeed very waterproof as you can see from the picture. I did find that intensity of the color fades but the color is still very visible.  The swatch on my hands did stay for whole 24 hours without budging till I took a makeup remover to take it off.  I actually was kind of disappointed with the staying power on my eyes. I do have very oily lids and most products on my eyes fade away in a couple of hours if not used a heavy duty primer.  I do find that the shadow stick gives a long wear of about 5-6 hours, but after that, the intensity starts to fade.  By the end of the day, I was still seeing color on my lid, but it was very faint.  It has a good staying power still, so I don’t have too much to complain here.

Overall, I really do like this product. Everything about the product, from their packaging to texture to staying power is impressive. The only thing is that I should have tried a different and more intense color as this particular color doesn’t show up well on my pigmented lids. Other than that, no complaints.  I will definitely check out other shades from this range.

• No huge cons for me.
