Manicure of the Week – MOTW

OpiLMEY&SHGI

Quick mixed post, Ladies – and, as the most MOTW posts, a short one.
Pimped OPI Let Me Entertain You (showed you a manicure with that amazing colour at my November faves post) with OPI Show It and Glow It!, a glitter laquer from the same collection, it´s the recently launched OPI Burlesque collection.

Easy 80ies stripes work; I like the asymetric effect and the glitter light-catching 🙂 Depending on the light the manicure appears different.

Then some of you asked for a swatch of a MAC Gelée, here it is. These tubes are not sold at MAC counters anymore. Furthermore I think the upcoming Lauder Gelées will be higher pigmented and more sticky than this lustre formula from MAC, so the products may not be comparable.

As you can see, the MAC Gelée has a quite sheer texture. Since the upcoming Estee Lauder Gelées containers have applicators they are supposed to be more covering.

  1. Your nails are soooooo droooolworthy Tatjana!! :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot: and thanks for posting the gelee swatch!!    Awesome manicure!! :waytogo: :waytogo: :waytogo: :waytogo:

    1. sorry Tatjana….its your question
But I am just giving her a tip from my side :))

Rati….if using direct nail paint….u have to give a swift stroke to get a clean edge….requires steady hands and some practice
Or else an easy method….after the base nail paint dries completely….you can use a cello-tape method…..to have perfect lines drawn…like how we use French tip stickers for French manicure :))

    2. Here´s the trick:

I use adhesive Tape 😉 The only thing you have to care about is that the first colour layers are completely dry. Then apply the tape (you can do this several times to create different geometric patterns but be sure that the lays are really dry before applying the tape) – it helps you to get very straight lines :victory2: Let it dry down for a few minutes, remove the tape and go ahead with Top Coat – i would recommend a quick dry / fat dry / rapid dry one, this sets down the manicure birlliant and quick 🙂

      1. This is awesome cheating Tatjana. :jaiho: I’ll do this and would flaunt infront of my friends. When they ask me the same question, I’ll tell them “huh! you need a lot of practice and a steady hand ” :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

        1. at the end your hands should look dainty……thats it….cheat or no cheat…….hai na

        1. Hehehehee…me too do this…and give gyaaan about “steady hands and practice” …me loving the idea :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :jiggy1: :jiggy1: :jiggy1: :jiggy1: :jiggy1: :jiggy1: 😐 😐 😐 me loving all cheating ideas only 😐 😐

  2. Wovieeeeeeee :inlove: :hypnotized: :hypnotized: :hypnotized: :hypnotized: !!!!! Ur hands luk sooo delicate and soft soft….. :jaiho: :jaiho: :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: :inlove:

      1. he he try it. They have lovely flavours but are super sticky. Best even if you end up hating it you won’t feel bad throwing it away as well. :secret2:

        1. I have them and i think its still lying it somewhere…its my first gloss and though i used to hate it for being sticky…i somewhere loved it..u always love everything first 😛

        2. I love sticky glosses 😀
Guess I am one of the few beauties liking sticky texture… I like it due to the fact that the lip make-up lasts longer with a sticky gloss product. 8)

          1. yeah Tatjana. Sticky glosses last long. Actually I dont mind using them. They only time I hate the stickiness is when the wind is blowing and my hair tend to stick on my lips. 😮 😮 😮 😮

            1. he he he :snicker: :snicker: :snicker: ….that reminds me of our Indian TV soaps now!! Wind blowing, hair sticking to Rati’s lippi…Donkey jee slowly removing the hair…both looking at each other eye-to-eye in slow motion..”tu hee haqeeekat” song playing in background..and then…then…then…………….

Episode ends… :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

              1. :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

You know when I wrote that wind blowing statement, i had the same feeling. But that happens. 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆

    1. The texture looks similar :highfive:
So I am excited how the Lauder Glées will be like. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

The MAC Lip Gelées are very good on top of lipsticks, liptints, lipstains and so on – due to the very jelly formula they appear very wet, gives a speicial look. I also like them as summer products for casual use 🙂

      1. Rati— yeahhh even i used to use the lakme tubes – but 2-3 times it ruined my purse so had to stop 🙁
Tatjana- u have grt nails yaa 🙂 wonder how u manage to keep them so nice- mine break a lot 🙁
and cool colors yaa…. they make ur nails look even more yummm

  3. wow….love those bright colors….. :-* :-*
And the glitter gives an edge and transforms it to a chic party look :inlove:
I love O.P.I nailpaints…..but not all shades available here plus they are so costly :(( 🙁 🙁
I have only 2 in my collection so far :((

    1. OPI ist quite expensive here, too.
It´s 15 € a bottle and that´s the reason I order OPI (and other US polish brands) in the US – several ebay sellers offer them for very low price :))

      1. yes thats a good alternative to buy expensive nail paints.
which other brands you like for nail paints?
I like Nail Inc. too :inlove: My frnd had got some shades from UK. But now I cant find them in India :((
thats the problem here….not many brands
I wish we had a Sephora store or Boots pharmacy here too.

      2. China Glaze has fair prizes and offers good quality.
My fave nail polish brands are: NUBAR    (check it out on .bynubar.com – their top coat is one of the best I ever used), Color Club (amazing texture and quality), OPI and, last but not least: MAC. I have a lot of China Glaze polishes as well. Another great rapid-dry top coat is the Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat – dries down even three or more lays quickly.

For nail therapy I would recommend Nail Tek Hydration Therapy products, especially for beatuies having problems with chipping and peeling. Their base and top coats really hydrate the nails

  4. Oh, I forgot to mention:
Flash means: Studio flush plus cam-flush = double flush.
I had a studio flush here for two days – but my cam is not good enough for this kind of light – got to buy a better one next year 😛

  5. these 2 colors fom the burlesque collection look real glam. i don’t have any opi laquers but i think i’ll check this out for the holidays. :yahoo: your mani looks quite pretty Tatjana. :cute: :)) :))

  6. oooooooooooooooooooooohhhh..u hve sooo sooo kewlll nails….loved the shade on ur nails.. me missing my long nails… ughhh..wen will they grow..currently i cut’em off….sheeeeshhh..loved ur nails / :woot:
