Mannings Lavender Spa Exfoliating Bath Scrub Review

On my recent visit to the local H&G store I found this Mannings exfoliating bath scrub, after reading the description I thought this could be a promising & bought it. Here’s my take on that.
scrub bottle
About Mannings from the description on the bottle: Mannings is a brand manufactured by Komar Cosmetics(China) & imported in India by J.L Morison(I) Ltd for Health & Glow.

What does Mannings Claim about this Bath Scrub: A new definition of calm & smoothing. Enriched with relaxing lavender essential oil, extracts of seaweed & Aloe Vera, the spa bath gel gently cleanses the skin while its natural walnut shell scrubs turn the skin silky-smooth as dead skin cells are massaged away.

How to use: Dispense desired amount onto palms or sponge, lather with water & gently massage over skin, then rinse well.

Ingredients: Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS), Acrylates copolymer, Cocamidopropyl betaine, Cocamide Dea, Glycerin, Cocamide mea, Glycol Disterate, PEG-75 Lanolin, Polyquanternium – 7, Algae extract, Aloe Barbadnesis leaf extract, Parfum, Trithanolamine, Sodium Chloride, Juglans Regia (Walnut) shell powder, DMDM Hydantoin, Disodium EDTA, lavandula Angustifolia(Lavender) Oil, Sodium Benzotriazolyl Butyphenol Sulfonate, Buteth – 3, Tributyl Citrate, CI 17200,CI 42090

scrub look
My Experience With Mannings Lavender Spa Exfoliating Bath Scrub: The scrub comes in a huge 750ml see through plastic container & has a plastic stopper to control leakage. The consistency of the scrub is little runny; it’s like a thin gel. Just need a two rupee coin size to produce a good lather. The scrub isn’t bigger grained, so it just feels like you are using a regular bath gel & not a scrub. It rinses off easily & doesn’t leave a soapy film or dry out the skin. The fragrance is good but as soon as I stepped out of the bathroom, I found it to be disappearing. I expected this to provide gentle exfoliation & leave me with a nice fresh feeling because of the presence of the Lavender essential oil but this doesn’t deliver what it claims.

Pros of the Mannings Lavender Spa Exfoliating Bath Scrub

• Doesn’t dry out the skin & is quite moisturising after every wash
• The packaging is very simple & nice. It comes in a see through plastic bottle with a pump dispenser to control the amount of body scrub you need.
• Travel friendly & leak-proof.
• Lathers well & rinses off easily.
• Comes in a 750ml bottle & will last long, just need a small amount to produce a good lather.

Cons of the Mannings Lavender Spa Exfoliating Bath Scrub

• The walnut shell granules are very small & don’t provide effective exfoliation.
• The fragrance is not long lasting; it disappears once you are out of the bathroom.
• Doesn’t leave you with a calm & soothing experience as per the claims.

Will I repurchase this? No, this will last for at least 5 months.

Will I recommend this? No, I wouldn’t because it doesn’t exfoliate; it’s just like using a regular body wash. It’s better to invest in the “Soap free” TBS shower gels which are priced at Rs.375 for 250ml, because there is no fun in using a 750ml body scrub priced at Rs.379 which doesn’t deliver what it claims.
