My Experience with Marc Jacobs #224 Magenta Le Marc Lip Creme:
I have been super impressed with my previous Le Marc lipstick and this one is no exception.
A sleek classy looking glossy black tube. It has silver accents.
Texture & Pigmentation:
These lip crème are somewhere between a crème and a gel. They go so smooth and glide on the lips. They do no tug or pull and deliver full opacity in 1 swipe.
The finish is completely matte. It does not contain any shimmer yet it does not look flat and monotonous on the lips. It has a subtle sheen to it which makes the lips look delectable.
The shade Magenta is described as a grape sangria. I absolutely love love this shade. I did not think I would like this so much from just looking at it in the tube and the swatch but on my lips it just blew me away. It is deep plum purple shade. It has that hint of vampy-ness which I love and this shade is perfect for fall and winter wear( even though we are nearing that season, I am still going to rock this because I love it so much). If you are someone who love vampy statement lips and love to keep your lips the center of attention this is the shade for you.
Feel on lips:
It does not go even or patchy and did not accentuate fine lines on my lips. Like all matte lipsticks, it does feel a bit drying on the lips but it never left them parched. You can avoid this by exfoliating you lips and applying a light coat of non-slippery lip balm like EOS underneath.
But overall it is very comfortable to wear and feels feather light on my lips.
It has a very good staying power. It stayed looking fresh for 8+ hours. It also survived through snacking and drinks. I did need a touch up after a meal as it faded from inside of the lips. It does transfer minimally. It also left a slight tint as it faded.
It has a light perfume-y scent which fades quickly.
Overall. I highly recommend these lip cremes by Le Marc. Absolutely brilliant.
Pros of Marc Jacobs #224 Magenta Le Marc Lip Creme:
• Full matte finish
• Smooth texture, glided on lips and does not tug
• Goes on with full opaque color in 1 swipe
• Not too drying nor too hydrating on the lips
• Very long wearing
• Does no bleed
• Light scent
• Beautiful vampy shade yet very wearable.
Cons of Marc Jacobs #224 Magenta Le Marc Lip Creme:
• May accentuate dry patches; be sure to exfoliate before wearing to get rid of this issue.
